You guys just do not understand the complexities of aviation. Without a METAR we are powerless. It looks to me, however - working blind without that METAR - that there was some very soft ground there which kind of shattered as you can see in ian's pic, and the nosewheel just went into it. Could be tarmac laid by the same gyppos that keep bothering me for my drive.

HiH
No they were Polish :))

I see from the quality paper pictures also that the engineering in place was for the A380 so that could also have caused the problem - wrong nose-leg fitted?

My take is that the cockpit floor was too thin and the strut went through it. :-?
All Boeing's fault. :(( :))

That’s a wheel change kit and as that stand is next to T5 Engineering there’s odd bits of equipment all over the place.

Yep - that's definitely the wrong nosewheel.

The ultimate blowjob, even bigger than re-inflating the autopilot! =))

Does beg the question about which Bloggs clobbered the nose wheel and why nobody noticed the damage but it will be put down to cumulative fatigue or something like that I guess!

See what happens when they furlough Woody! ;)))

Traditional stance, rather be a witness than a board member? Old habits and all that.

The aircraft has been moved to mx hanger, after nose was dropped down again and presumably cleared for towing by Engineering and others :D

Members of OpsNormal are invited to suggest how they would "solve the situation".
Someone should have rushed up in a pickup truck and taken the weight.

Been in data comm since we formed the bits individually with a Morse key.

Clearly American Chuck Norris was busy when this 737 nosewheel became tired and his weaker British counterpart Charles Morris (the Minor) was sent out to take the strain and failed abysmally in the task of supporting the nose of the aircraft. It is rumoured that he has had his Charles Atlas seal of approval rescinded!

On "solving the situation" I would have taken my leaf from these folks, Explode the Whale and wouldn't have looked on like the blubbering BA bozos! =)) ...

Another video available on the post that John Hill put up was something about the 'most stressful Landing ..' of a Missionary Aviation Pilot.

I managed to watch a few minutes without screaming abuse at the screen...... X( X(

A Turbine A/C with full glass panel, Autopilot and all the frills.... 8-|

Alison and I would not give that bloke the time of Day!!! :-q

The story goes that the engineer responsible for fitting the pins was a short-arse and could not reach the nose-gear 'ole, so he asked a 'mate' to stick it in for 'im. Said mate obliged by sticking his thing in the wrong 'ole.

Looks like the responsible engineer fell short of his required perfomance? What a plonker.

Yeah Pinky, I watched that this week as "Matts Recovery" had not posted any new clips. And thought much the same.
