I received an email to my address advising a PayPal invoice $188.22 bill from DUSTY OAKS, 1211 Apple St, Vidalia, LA, 71373 for Norton. I found the item was shown in PayPal on Mrs PN's email address. I could not cancel it directly with PayPal. There was a phone number but I needed to download a form. I eventually got the form but finally they needed my bank account details not my PayPal or credit card details.

I then contacted my CC company; job done.

This morning I received this email purporting to be from the Bank of America.
It's from a private gmail.com account and I don't want to a loan so I'll ignore it!

# 1304. McAfee ... yes, back to me, too, and no, I didn’t miss it in absentia. Three today. Isn’t this a comment on the efficiency of McAfee ?

I had two new ones yesterday, the address was momylove. Uk
The first was an obvious false email. The second purported to be from Hello Fresh a food delivery startup (covid). Only after I clicked unsubscribe and an Italian word popped up did I find the address was also momylove. Uk

Remember that clicking 'unsubscribe' tells the spammer they have a live email address.

I just update the spam filter so the next one bounces. That's my equivalent of unsubscribe.

Very true but this one seemed to be from a valid company who had previously legitimately sent me emails and also previously had been told to stop.

Now I once received a scam from Ghana, I created a Gmail address and he never questioned how 'my' name kept changing.

Following on from the $188 bill that made its way onto my PayPal account, Mrs PN got a thank you today for the, $179 payment for a PayPal invoice. Thankfully it didn't actually come from my account.

Received a phone call yesterday with an Australian accented Female saying that it was a recorded message informing me that my Amazon Prime was about to expire and it would be automatically renewed by direct debit from my Bank A/C etc etc.

I just hung up. I don't have Amazon Prime (don't even know what that is!) and I don't have direct debit payments on anything.

Amazon Prime: discounts, almost-instant free deliveries, and an excellent library of free films and free TV shows. Prime is very cheap in Spain.

Example: HP Printer cartridges, cheaper than in my local shop in the town below and under a day to deliver.

In general, if I've got something on direct debit (or whatever the US equivalent is called), it's because I want it to be paid automatically so I don't have to think about it.

OFSO, with the convenience of not traipsing around different stores to find a choice of more than one. You lose a day searching and save the cost of travel too.

Eg, needed some mastic removal gel. Lots of online choice, ordered and then spent the day preparing for the job.

Had two voicemails left on me mobile today; one of them from Ffffrance, t'other from a UK number. Apparently, a warrant has been issued and I am going to be arrested for tax avoidance and I must press '1' to speak to an officer. T'was the same voice on both calls - they must have been moving fast as the calls were within minutes of each other. Onanists!!

Just had our daily call from some scammer telling us our domestic appliance cover needs renewing. Always from a different number so difficult to block. We've been getting these calls since Xmas, you would think our lack of response to their calls would be a kind of hint to them that we ain't falling for their scam.
It's always my fault - SWMBO

Still getting calls to renew breakdown insurance (which never existed) on domestic appliances 12 years after leaving previous address.
I had responded to an online questionnaire at previous address and invented the answers, so none of the appliances existed, but they still persist with their scam calls.
