Did you know that on the Canary Isles there is not one canary?
And on the Virgin Isles, same thing - not one canary.

Lots of dogs on the Canary islands, though. All manner of them.

My friend's wife says that he's tight-fisted so to prove her wrong he took her out for tea & biscuits. It was quite exciting as she's never given blood before.

Glad they mentioned mourners just to avoid confusion.

What better place to croak than the Crem?

No need for transport - just load them into the furnace . . .

Apologies for aviation content
It wasn't just flatulence that caused the unpopularity of our older CCF cadets on "air experience" rides in a Meteor T.7 at RAF Driffield. Throwing up resulted in offenders being obliged to clean up the rear cockpit area afterwards. Not nice.

A year or two later, I was part of an nco cadre transported to RAF West Malling for similar rides in T.7s of 500 Squadron Auxiliary AF. Just days before, the whole Auxiliary organisation was abolished by the govt, but they still took us just to look at what we might have had ... Given the appalling accident statistics for Meteors, I reckon that disappointment might actually have been a lifesaver ... :-o

My first posting after training in 1961 was RAF Driffield (then a Thor missile base with sub-sites at RAF Carnaby, RAF Catfoss, RAF Full Sutton & RAF Breighton) and my final posting was as a permanent staff instructor to 3 Maritime HQ, RAuxAF.
