A serious one for RGB

RGB, or anyone with intimate knowledge of the standard parachute used by Rangers in the latter quarter of the last century.

What type and what was the maximum load allowed on the standard use parachute. By that I mean for example, the British PX Mk VI and V both had a maximum load of 300lbs. Fully booted and spurred I weighed 160lb and I had to carry a 15lb reserve making my overall weight 175 lbs. This left a maximum weight for my container and weapon sleeve at 125lbs. I've jumped with a 115lb container, (damn that A41 radio and two spare batteries), and i could barely get to the door with the 35lb main chute on as well...

I'm asking because elsewhere on the interweb I have an arrogant blowhard that has suddenly changing tack and has, miraculously, become a Ranger who was jumping with 175lbs... Needless to say, I'm calling bull shiite...

Thanks for any assistance...
