Grimy and squalid details are now emerging about the Leader of the Opposition:
Mr Corbyn and Ms Abbott are said to have had a sexual relationship and even went on a motorbike tour of East Germany following the break-up of his first marriage.
A source close to the Labour leader confirmed the tryst after he failed to step in and reprimand Ms Abbott following a row with a fellow female Labour MP.
Ms Abbott is reported to have verbally attacked new MP Jess Phillips after she criticised Mr Corbyn’s lack of top female shadow ministers, warning her: “You’re not the only feminist in the parliamentary Labour Party”.

The location of The Wall in Berlin was NOT always on the border. In some places it was as much as 10 metres on the East side of the white line marking the border, as I found to my cost when I stepped over the said line from the West side. Wonder if my photograph is still in the Stasi's files somewhere ? An ugly incident.

When I went into the State of Brandenburg the wall was long gone. We were off to MTU to talk about engine maintenance, but on the other side of the Brandenberg gate the architecture changed and gave a tangibly depressing air to East Berlin. Once you got out into open country it was quite pleasant. Lots of places for a bit of abandoned frollicking should that take one's fancy.

When East Germany was a going concern, tourists from the West were not allowed to wander about on their own, usually. There were approved routes and you were expected to stick to them. Either those two were on some kind of "Treat them nice because they are Comrades" list, or else this is just BS.

OFSO - As I understood it, all of the wall was at least five metres behind the notional border. This meant they could repair the wall if necessary from the western side. They could also shoot people in those five metres as well should they so have wished.

I believe most military barracks in the UK have a similar set up as well, Woolwich Barracks certainly does, probably of about six feet. I was just about to say I'll take a piccie of it if you wish, but then suddenly realised that may not be such a good idea, the guards are all tooled up nowadays.
