Re: Falcon Heavy ready for lift off
Right now, the Dragon cargo capsule is 10m away from the Space Station and the crew are waiting for sunrise to complete the robotic arm capture. Live on
Incredible!
Incredible!
Re: Falcon Heavy ready for lift off
Coverage of the approach to docking of the capsule on NASA TV right now. It even has 'port and starboard' nav lights (although which is which............)
Re: Falcon Heavy ready for lift off
The big question is, once Ridley has completed the docking, will he be allowed off for a cup of coffee, a leg-stretch and a pee before he goes back down again?
Re: Falcon Heavy ready for lift off
20m away and shortly commencing final approach. Some amazing pictures.
Re: Falcon Heavy ready for lift off
Had to 'stack' . . .
Re: Falcon Heavy ready for lift off
Soft capture at 10:51Z. Set to stay docked for 5 days. Plenty of time for a wee-wee.

Re: Falcon Heavy ready for lift off
Musk's departure from South Africa was Canada's and then the US's gain!
Good to see all this stuff. Thanks for posting Boac.

Whatever we think of the Musk, this is quite an achievement!

Ripley not Ridley. Just waiting for the alien to burst into the ISS.

Re: Falcon Heavy ready for lift off
Dragon crew capsule entered - no sign of life . . .
Re: Falcon Heavy ready for lift off
Does not bode well for the first planned manned flight...
Re: Falcon Heavy ready for lift off

Re: Falcon Heavy ready for lift off
You could buy (and maybe still can) rubber/plastic repros of the alien 'face hugger' in Forbidden Planet. Would have been fun to take one up in the Dragon hidden in the overhead console above Ripley.
Re: Falcon Heavy ready for lift off
Successful un-docking - Ripley is coming home. Next event De-orbit Burn and Splashdown scheduled at 12:30Z.

Re: Falcon Heavy ready for lift off
Good to hear and one hopes that the return flight and reentry is flawless as these first landings by the Falcon boosters were last year. Forgive me for reprising this is. It was simply incredible. A case of watching the future happen now even if that is self obvious or even tautological.
Prepare to hear lots of whooping Americans but that aside, the video itself is always worth watching.
