Wagner mercenaries published a video on their Grey Zone Telegram channel showing a top brass visit to their HQ. Members of the Reddit/Ukraine forum managed to geolocate it in Popasna. It was wiped out by a HIMARS strike on Aug 14th. The Telegram channel has not been updated since.

Way to go Mama!

Woman cut off boyfriend's penis after he tried to rape 14-year-old daughter, reports say

https://www.fox10phoenix.com/news/woman ... ia-reports#

A mother in India is accused of cutting off her boyfriend’s genitals after he allegedly tried to rape her 14-year-old daughter, according to local reporting.

The incident was reported on Wednesday in Uttar Pradesh, a state in northern India near the border with Nepal. The 36-year-old woman, who was not named in the reporting, told the Times of India that she had been working on a farm and came home to find her 32-year-old, live-in boyfriend attacking her teenage daughter.

The woman had been living with him for the past two years after separating from her "alcoholic husband," according to the report.

"I was working in the farm when the incident took place," the mother was quoted as saying by the Times of India. "Fortunately I returned home in the nick of time and caught him red-handed."

The panicked mother tried to save her daughter, and the boyfriend then allegedly attacked her, the report said.

"So I brought a knife from the kitchen and chopped off his private parts to teach him a lesson. I have no regrets for what I did," the mother told the Times of India.

An officer with the Lakhimpur police station told the news outlet that the boyfriend was booked for rape under a child sexual abuse law in India, called the Protection of Children Against Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.

The man was reported as being in critical condition and hospitalized for treatment.

It was unclear if the mom would face charges.
India has passed stricter rape laws in recent years in response to violent crimes against women and girls. The 2012 fatal gang rape of a young woman in New Delhi triggered massive protests by hundreds of thousands to demand stricter laws and punishment.

The POCSO Act, which aims to protect children from sexual assault, sexual harassment, and pornography, was passed that same year.

The 2018 rape and killing of an 8-year-old girl in India’s Jammu-Kashmir state and the alleged rape of a girl by a ruling party lawmaker in Uttar Pradesh state — the same state where the recent incident occurred — triggered the government to approve of the death penalty for people convicted of raping children under 12.

Group Dishonorable Mention

Phoenix man burned after group loads grocery bags of gasoline into car, causing fire

https://www.azfamily.com/2022/09/30/pho ... sing-fire/

PHOENIX (3TV/CBS 5) -- Police say a Phoenix man is in the hospital with serious burns after a group of men filled grocery bags with gasoline and loaded them into a car, leading to a fire on Thursday morning. Phoenix police say a vehicle was engulfed in flames near 35th Avenue and Ocotillo Road shortly after 8 a.m. Police arrived and found a man in his 40s burned near the car and rushed him to the hospital.

Officers talked to another man at the scene, who said the car was his own. He reportedly told police his vehicle was stolen by a man who burned him with an “unknown object” before stealing his car. The man’s friend allegedly witnessed the robbery and drove to follow the stolen car. The man told police he followed them while walking and found his car on fire, along with his friend who’d been badly burned.

Police later found out the victim had asked his two friends to get gasoline since one of their cars was empty. The men filled several plastic grocery bags with gasoline before loading them into their car. They then picked up the victim and drove where the second vehicle was parked. However, before they arrived, the bags of gasoline ignited with the three men inside the car, causing the vehicle to erupt in flames.

The victim is in extremely critical condition, while another man had minor burns. No one has been arrested. The investigation is ongoing.

An experiment using drums of liquid nitrogen in front of a large crowd of school children at the Casa, de Culture, Girona, went wrong last night. The explosion of a liquid nitrogen drum at the Casa de Cultura de Girona, in Plaça de l'Hospital, has injured around fifteen people of varying degrees, as confirmed by the Fire Department. The injured are nine minors and six adults. The experiment was carried out by scientific publicist Dani Jiménez and an assistant. The assistant is in an extremely serious condition in hospital. So no deaths, no removal from the gene pool. Reddit has a film of the incident.

Don't think so. Major hospital is on outskirts of town. Modern but grim. The Placa de l'Hospital marked the site of an old one. The hospital apothecary is still there, tourist attraction.

Luckily we were at another Cultural Centre a mile distant last night, doing the sculpture show.

Teens steal, crash Maserati that owner left unlocked with keys inside: Pinellas sheriff

https://www.fox10phoenix.com/news/1-dea ... en-vehicle#

Assist awarded to owner of the car.

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. - Three teens found an easy vehicle to steal when they discovered an unlocked Maserati with the keys inside in a driveway in northeast Pinellas County early Sunday morning, according to the Pinellas County Sheriff's Office.

One of the teens ended up dying after crashing the car, and another may not survive, Pinellas County Sheriff Bob Gualtieri said during a press conference near the scene of the crash.

Three boys, 15-year-old Keondrick Lang, Mario Bonilla, 15, and Malachi Daniels, 16, were checking door handles for unlocked cars in the neighborhood of 29th Street N and 58th Avenue N. Sheriff Gualtieri said Lang was trying not to put his fingerprints on the cars, so he used his shirt to pull door handles.

When the Maserati door opened, Lang saw that the keys were inside, and they jumped in.

Meanwhile, deputies in a helicopter above spotted the teens as they were getting into the car. The chopper had been sent to the scene of another crime – a burglary – and deputies were taking a suspect into custody.

Teen dead after crashing stolen Maserati: sheriff
A crash involving three boys and a stolen vehicle has left one person dead, according to the Pinellas County Sheriff's Office.

Other deputies on the ground were alerted to the possible vehicle-theft-in-progress and tried to get near the vehicle to stop the teens before they got away, but the Maserati took off. Lang was driving. Bonilla was in the front passenger seat and Daniels was in the back.

The Pinellas County Sheriff's Office has a policy to not engage in chases on the roadway, but once the teens saw there were deputies in the area, they took off as if they were being chased, according to the sheriff.

The helicopter tracked their movements from above, until the crash.

Three teens stole the vehicle, which was left unlocked with the keys inside. One of the teens died and another may not survive.

The Maserati collided with the side of a 2-business building along 62nd Ave. N, across from the Winn-Dixie. The car flipped over in the parking lot.

Bonilla died in the crash. The sheriff said Daniels may not survive. Lang was hospitalized and is expected to survive.

The Maserati was a total loss.

The sheriff said the teens do not have much of a criminal history. However, the three teens had been stopped together by deputies in Kenneth City, walking through a neighborhood early in the morning. At that time, their parents were called and the teens were returned home.

The sheriff said the parents of the teens were distraught about the crash. Their parents had tried to correct the teens' behavior. One of the boys had recently been moved to a different school.

Gualtieri said the car owner had been notified of the crash.

Gualtieri said the car owner had been notified of the crash.
And, as the keys were left inside and the doors unlocked, he can look forward to having his insurance declared void.

A British hiker is in an Italian hospital with extreme hypothermia after he tried to scale Mont Blanc without equipment or adequate clothing.

Feda Hussein, 26, an aeronautical engineering graduate from Portsmouth, was close to death when he was rescued by helicopter from the Italian flank of the mountain on Sunday.

Rescuers said his body temperature was 25 degrees, 10 degrees below the hypothermia threshold, when he was found in a hole in the snow on the Bionnassay glacier, 3,100m up.

fficials said he was dressed as though he was going for a stroll, wearing mountain boots but without crampons, ropes or an ice pick. He was said to be wearing a tracksuit that was unsuited to the conditions.

Hussein told rescuers he had slept in a tent on Friday night but he only had a tarpaulin and walking poles with him and spent Saturday night out in freezing temperatures.

“He was in an evident state of hypothermia, exhausted,” said Paolo Comune, head of Alpine Rescue for the Aosta Valley. “The mystery is how he got there, because there are holes and crevasses before you reach that zone. No one aware of the risks you face in that kind of territory would go up there at this time.”

Hussein told rescuers he had intended to climb Mont Blanc to celebrate his birthday and was planning to descend afterwards into France.

Italian media said that rescuers had assumed he was an illegal immigrant trying to make his way into France by evading border controls. They said he had no identity documents with him, only a credit card in his girlfriend’s name.

Hussein said that he intended to climb the mountain following the Italian route, including a stop at the Gonella Hut.
My necessaries are embark'd: farewell. Adieu! I have too grieved a heart to take a tedious leave.

Florida attorney who opposed state helmet law dies in motorcycle crash while not wearing one

Ron Smith had spent over a decade fighting Florida laws that required the use of helmets, and represented a number of clients who violated state motorcycle requirements.

https://www.nbcnews.com/news/us-news/fl ... -rcna54095

Friends are speaking out after a Florida attorney who fought state helmet laws died in a motorcycle crash while not wearing one.

Ron Smith, an experienced rider, was killed on Aug. 20 after he lost control of his motorcycle and crashed into a utility trailer. His girlfriend, Brenda Volpe, was his passenger and also died.

"He was a guy that you went to for advice," Gary Pruss told the Tampa Bay Times.

The pair met through a group called the American Legion in Old Town.

Smith was traveling on U.S. 19 North in Pinellas County when he began to slow down to traffic, lost control of his motorcycle and skid on the roadway, the Florida Highway Patrol wrote in an accident report. His bike rotated "in a clockwise motion, overturning onto its left side" and collided with the left side and wheel of the utility trailer.

Smith, 66, was pronounced dead at the scene. Volpe, 62, died hours later at a hospital.

A medical examiner said Smith and Volpe died from head trauma, the Times reported. The office did not immediately return a request for comment on Wednesday.

The accident report noted that neither was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash, although it is unknown whether one would have prevented their deaths.

Smith had spent over a decade fighting Florida laws that required the use of helmets, according to the Tampa Bay Times. He represented a number of clients who violated state motorcycle requirements in court cases that have been credited with helping to overturn the helmet law.

The current law states that anyone over the age of 21 can ride without headgear as long as they have at least $10,000 in insurance coverage "for injuries incurred as a result of a crash while operating or riding on a motorcycle."

Dave Newman, a friend, told the newspaper that Smith loved his independence and did not like being told what to do.

"He thought everybody should have their own choice," he said.

In one court case from 1996, Smith represented a man who was ticketed for riding his motorcycle without a helmet in Madeira Beach, according to the Times, citing a Tampa Tribune article. As a result of the case, the Pinellas Sheriff’s Office briefly stopped enforcing the state’s helmet law after a judge dismissed the person's citation. The judge based the decision on another case that Smith fought in which it was ruled that Florida's law was unconstitutional.

At the time, Smith told the Tribune that he got on his bike and went "looking for a ticket" by riding through Pinellas County without a helmet for 90 miles.

"I passed at least a half-dozen cops," he said. "And all I got was a sunburn."
