LG, nice to see you, dirty finger nails and all.

Another Mediterranean day forecast for Dorset tomorrow. Ex A, you will have to take your own chair with you each trip as hand baggage, should be under 5kg so no problems.

Wouldn't it be appropriate for Ex-Ascot to have a chair like this?

Image

There would be no danger of the chair going missing (unless Ex-Ascot also went missing) and it would ease the climb to the Ascot-residence.

If manpower is a problem, I'm sure TS could manage with this:-

Morning. 6.50am in HKG. No storms or rain yesterday and none forecast tomorrow. Apsara said our residence got its first thundery yesterday which I worked out was a reasonable downpour. Our fancy met puter thingy box recorded an initial gust of 25kt and temp dropped from 41C to 24. Thai TV she says forecast another TS due this arvo.

Today is the same sh!t with the same cadets as yesterday - full motion sim (FFS) doing ILS, RNAV and VOR approaches (no NDBs are done anymore save twin locator). First using A/P and FD then manual flight but keeping FD on. A/T remains active all day. Pre-sim briefing of 2h, then 2 x 3h FFS followed by 1h debrief and Hate sheet writeups. Long day.

Am looking forward to my whole day off tomorrow spending it in Howard Hughes mode as aforementioned yesterday.

No, spending all day in bed watching in-house movies and only getting up for dunny visits and answering the door for room service. No bottling of pee nor toenail collecting.

I was wondering if The Chair had procreated before it was either murdered, severely injured or chairnapped?

On Sunday I shall do my best to woo Caco back to the forum when we meet for lunch in Perth - Scotland that is, not Oz.
Echoing those thoughts:

All the best indeed to George around the world. Who remembers the B.A for free travel around its network on 23rd of April 1991?

Slasher would you be permanently based away from home and not getting a few days in a row off each month as you did in ME? If yes it seems hard.

A cough cold is bothering me. I went to bed earlier last night and woke up earlier. It seems I am on a permanent sleep ovedraft.

No RiS. The Contract* with my old airline was non-commuting, thus one had to do deals each bloody month to get extra time off to be able to go home. Don't forget I was there purely for the tax free high salary like every other expat. Quite a few other expats were in the same boat. But it could be done if the Fleet planner could fit it in.

With my present employer it's commuting - period - unless one wanted a permanent HKG base assignment (like the old pommy bloke I replaced who only went back to his Indo domicile once every few months after he shacked up with his Korean fluff). In that case it's a bit more money since one can request a roster similiar to the one I had this month.

Exactly when one can bugger off home one doesn't know until the roster comes out. However it's (supposed to be) nothing less than 5 days. The screwup this month was because it took me so long to get up to standard teaching cadets. Other destructors had to be used and they weren't giving up their days off without exchange days in lieu. Hence my April sodomisation of sorts.

I recently had a similiar bout of rhinoceros virus presently doing the rounds in Honkers. Fortunately I rapidly recovered. Get lotsa sleep as that's when one's immune system is doing its best stuff.

* assumes one'll drag one's wife and kids to the Gulf with one, but Apsara would've found it hell and be bored sh!tless. She's gainfully employed at home and makes very good money by Thai standards. Me son probably could've adapted being quite young, but wouldn't be able to enjoy the freedoms he has at home.

Ford in Figueras do the annual inspection and ITV on the little car for free, always passes due to alchemic massaging of the fuel beforehand. Still have to pay the ITV of course. And there's a small garage in Castelló where the owner has a cousin working at the ITV. Cars they take also always pass no matter how awful a state they are in. As ever in Spain, it's who you know (or who you bribe).

Morning folks, welcome back LG. Freezing and overcast. Eggs and beer down in the port. All rather political but I may have a new chair. Thank you for all the suggestions but some look like I would need staff from Bots. The guy who has right of posession was in MY place this morning so I sat in his chair. No objection and in the afternoon it is in the sun so may be better. He has been looking after our house here so we owe him money. The question is do we pay him now so he will happily let me sit in his chair or do we pay him when we leave so he will let me sit in his chair to make sure he gets paid :-?

A photo from yesterday of me canal. Folks enjoying a beautiful warm day in pleasant surroundings, the boat trips were very popular and completely sold out. More boat trips at the next Bank Holiday if you're up that way.

Morning all. Not as warm as the last few days but still very acceptable.
Nice to hear from LG once again.

Off to the Sons of Morris before the ankle biters are let loose in the aisles.
