Was re-elected el Presidente last night for a third term. Seems I am thought to be doing a decent job, with the community of owners having only two debtors and a healthy bank balance.

Another blue sunny day out there. 17c at present heading for mid 20s again.

Well done on avoiding the beach on your first trip to Sandsaregrotty, reddo.

Ibbie , think that they’re maybe a vacancy or two in Westminster later this week, your experience could be a winner :x

A cash machine has just charged me £2.00 for a cash withdrawal, but still told me to cover my PIN to stop me getting robbed. Pretty ironic really....

4 days off now. Busy tour. Went to Lanzarote for the first time. Windy.
You lucky, lucky pilot. Used to eject 400 yobs there about once a week with the airline. Trouble is we also picked up another 400 yobs and took them back to Blighty. It is always windy.

Windy again here last night, Now calm but cloudy. Not a very nice day.

Over did it a bit on the raki last night. Don't know how it happened. Result was no early morning walk but Mrs Ex-Ascot has walked back to the house to do aerobics but just had a sms to say that the DVD player has died. Maybe that was on the raki as well.

Yeah, we took one person down and his bike. Stayed the night. Flew back to the UK empty. :)

I've spent a month in the harbour at Arrecife - mostly not windy. Fuerteventura is always windy, hence the name. No decent anchorage there either.

I object to being called a yob. Used to go to Lanzarote every summer in the 1980s. The reliable wind was one of the main attractions. Windsurfing at los Cucharas and Famara.

Used to have an ex RN pilot who would grab the jump seat to go there for the weekend with his windsurf board. He would sleep on the beach by a beach bar in his windsurf board bag. Bit odd these RN chaps. Summat to do with all that sea air, salt and rum me thinks.

Check density of tears. Not often considered. Mine were now and then not liquid enough to keep eyes lubricated. Feels like eye strain but isn't.

Having "done for" Monarch, Greybull look to be about to be involved in something similar at British Steel.

What about McKinsey? They seem to be the kiss of death for any company for whom they consult.

Are they asset stripping?

Hope that leads to some half decent/cheaper restaurants at airports where he had outlets.

Rip offs were the order of the day!

Mrs OFSO just recounted her experiences in his Italian chain. Dirty, poor service, expensive. (The restaurants, that is.) Said the one at Gatwick was a disgrace. Complained afterwards, never answered.

Greybull don't asset-strip. To the best of my knowledge (and I have some about this) it's a bona fide attempt to run a business, which doesn't always succeed. I suspect much of the reporting may be as a result of Greybull trying to hold the government's feet to the fire in order to get their loan. I hope they manage it.

Thank you Octo.

It is the Life of Brian 'splitters' party meeting in our main village tonight. Really nice people many of them friends of ours and we voted for the leader as a councillor for our party last time. But, they just do not have the experience on board to run the island. It is all very complicated but if we go to the almost certain second election this new party is going to come with us so we should win. It is a very tense time here. It is not like the UK. The mayor is the CEO of the island. He runs it, it is his train set.

Edit, leader of the opposition has just discretely paid for our bucket of raki. Still not voting for him. Great guy but weak team. He has however got some nice looking girls on his side..

Morning all, a bit wet here this morning, but avoided the really bad stuff over the past couple of days. We were driving home from Colorado and got rained on quite a bit. Said weather front turned to snow where we'd been for all of last week.

Younger dog picked up a 2nd and 3rd in class in a couple of competitions, not bad for a national event. Both dogs got to experience snow for the first time at Donner Pass and met elk (at a safe distance) during our stay in Colorado. I got the authentic experience on Saturday morning, walking to the show venue from the hotel and had to detour due to a herd of elk.
