Evenin all,
Got back from N. Cyprus, exhausted and with bronchitis - sat next to a little old lady who coughed all the way from MAN to ANT.
Anything much happened? Will read in later.

Morning all,
Still as reported, 23 and climbing.
Viz a bit better can see *Ibbieville* at least.
SM is in a charity shop changing her stock of books.
Henry nibbled at my arm before and left behind a bit of tooth.
If going to N. Cyprus do you still have to go via Turkey ? *Jim* could be telling us MAN to AYT

Morning folks, town day but Maun is a bit far so just phoned it. Apparently winter is yet to arrive. It is waiting to get freezing for our return.
We seem to be swamped with Americans. Unusual.
Nice day now. Must speak to chef about lunch.
Edit, the Americans are a group of artists. Fish and chips for lunch.

At our evening raki place. A friend painting his place with spray paint involving a noisy compressor. Little kid just walked past with fingers in ears. Election fever continues. Big argument about a new road we have been against for 20 years. We will concentrate on getting the Admiral back in then attack the issue. They are saying good for farming up there. Excuse me but they were farming up there 1,000 years ago. It is called a f...ing donkey not a truck.

Re: The really boring and totally pointless snippets thread IV
I see that Daniel Craig has taken a tumble, and damaged his ankle during filming of "Bond 25". That's unfortunate, could happen to anyone even simply walking downstairs, and thus deserving of sympathy. The media say this is the latest "jinx" on the ongoing project, which is alleged to be in the process of being re-written for the umpteenth time.
As a keen reader of Ian Fleming's 14 or so Bond novels, and having enjoyed most of the films based on them, I'm not altogether surprised that the 10 or 11 film scripts since cobbled together by others have proved difficult to reproduce his creative genius. In my opinion, his original storylines were uniquely conceived, largely based on his fascinating life experiences with a dash of buccaneering nonsense thrown in as seasoning. The well has finally run dry, I feel.
So even if all problems are overcome, and the 25th attempt at making oodles of cash out of the mere name "Bond" actually reaches the cinema screens, I won't be watching it.

There is no Bond but Sean Connery.

Re: The really boring and totally pointless snippets thread IV
There is always a temptation, mainly from the money involved, to write one more episode, or one more remake. It appears the 8th series of Game of Thrones has done the same from the non-spoiler reviews I have seen. I shall thus be sticking with my seasons 1-7 boxed set. Same thing happened with The West Wing also.
Re: The really boring and totally pointless snippets thread IV
This matter of boxed sets interests me, apart from the obvious point that people's tastes vary immensely, I have a feeling that the type of set collected is partly a generational thing. For example, my own boxed sets include Lovejoy, House of Cards (the superb UK one with Ian Richardson starring, not the US attempt to copy), Frasier, Seinfeld, ELR, Scrubs, 'Allo, 'Allo, Sharpe, Hornblower, and even, dare I say it, Friends! A rather eclectic bunch, with emphasis on humour rather than drama or gore, perhaps? Game of Thrones I have never watched, nor Downton Abbey, but Monarch of the Glen I enjoyed enough to buy the boxed set. I like to think my taste is tilted towards what I call "quality" productions, but on reflection, doesn't everyone?

Boxed Set?
I have the set of boxes!
Quite a story to get them to SA.
They were a private sale on E-Bay, in the UK. The shipping to SA would have cost more than the DVD's.
I had them shipped to a friend in the UK, he unpacked them to paper CD sleeves and with the covers mailed them on to me.
I bought DVD boxes locally for R2 each. Far less than the shipping cost of the boxes.

Not to be worn if you suffer from dear old Slasher's "Latch Key Incontinence".
