Urology test passed. Come back in 6 months.

Replacement sun visors for Mrs IB's car have arrived from Brum.

PSA level. Can be a prostate cancer indicator

A very unreliable test. Doctors have told me not worth doing. High level might mean cancer, might not. Low level means nothing. A close relative had emergency surgery to remove all prostate as highly malignant growths found on inspection. PSA was negative.

Finally managed to sit down in front of computer for first time in about two weeks I think.

Mentioned some time ago that I had started to have to use a walking stick due to what appeared to be a pinched sciatic nerve in my right leg. Subsequent treatment by a Chiropractor 'unpinched' the nerve which however had by then caused some swelling. Use of an anti inflammatory gel was recommended.

Unfortunately, by this time I had to abandon the walking stick for crutches. This wasn't so bad but still had to watch myself and take extra care. Of course I would!! #-o

Still unsure of exactly how it happened but I was adjusting the offside mirror of my XG Ford Ute whilst balancing on the crutches when I suddenly found myself falling backwards, headed for a concrete floor. :-o

I landed on one of the crutches and on the bad side of body! X(

After about 50 minutes I realised I wasn't able to do a damn thing about getting up so managed to reach my mobile and 'phoned a friend.'

Subsequent visit to the local Medical centre has me on a fairly powerful anti inflammatory tablet and instructions to be a damn sight more careful!

All the above was just over a week ago and whilst there is some improvement in my mobility, I won't be dispensing with the crutches for quite some time yet. This is my first full day out of bed since the fall.

"What a drag it is getting old...." :-?

PP I got the impression all his toes are intact.

Good to see you back Pinky. Doesn't get any better as you get older. Do hope you make an acceptable recovery. Take care.

Neighbour has a very high step at her front door. Didn't quite raise my foot high enough to clear it, but unfortunately by the time I discovered this I was moving forward. Suddenly discovering there was no support underneath me, I slowly crumpled to the floor. Almost as if in slow motion. Didn't do any harm to anything, but most disconcerting when she answered my previously rung door bell to find a body on her front step.

Returned home to the universal panacea that cures all, a mug of tea. Took a few hours to work out what had happened.

Sad news this evening, we said goodbye to our senior cat, Zizi. She made it to 18 but was diagnosed with kidney failure sometime last year. She was interested in life until yesterday, so today we took her to the vet for the last time.

Self injury must be all the rage, reason for saying ,was practicing my ballerina moves by stepping into a puddle of spilt petrol, needless to say a Dame Margot Fonteyn I'am not.Have spent the last 9 days nursing a badly sprained ankle and the swelling is just starting to subside and the ability to become mobile is returning.Seems the older one becomes, the longer the recovery.

I share the same feeling with the previous members. You have my sympathy Llondel for the loss of such a nice creature.

Allison although I do respect most of the choices you make I would disagree about tea's problem solving capacities: it takes a second place after coffee.

Pinky and all in Ex-A island's residence language there is a saying about old people and falls: the old person would die either by falling or because of his/her bowels. Keep safe every one

Commiserations to Pinky and llondel.

Getting old ? Then don't wash an outside, wooden, staircase wearing Crocs ! Fortunately not too much damage, just a sprain not a break, but turning up for an International Trans-Pacific flight wearing a Moon Boot and using crutches loaned by the surgery had an immediate effect, no doctors certificate or explanation necessary, immediate wheelchair and pusher called for, by-passed X-Ray security, first to board etc. etc.

I still have the Moon Boot, think I'll buy a pair of crutches before my next flight !

Morning folks.

Clear and blue out there. High of 22c expected.

Mrs IB is hoping today is the beginning of the end of her kidney stone operation pain. Off to hospital at 11.30.

There is a UK based radio DJ, who used to get to an airport for a flight, then put a neck support on and produce a collapsable walking stick to aid his then acquied limp. Worked everytime for assistance and more often than not, got him an upgrade.

The issue of footwear when water or slippery surfaces or driving are involved needs careful consideration at any age.

We drove 80Km today taking my cargo bike to the shop for an electric conversion, dragged a trailer all the way with the bike strapped firmly onboard. Oh dear! Some of the cables are not long enough for the cargo bike frame so we left the bike and the trailer and expect to do another trip next week.

The ute had been washed and polished for the trip to town so on our way home with a nor-wester howling down the Rakai river and we got a got thorough dusting then 5Km from home an irrigator gave us a good sprinkling just to make it stick!
Been in data comm since we formed the bits individually with a Morse key.

G'day,
A clear blue day, 16 already, guess is 21.

Hope today goes as planned *Ibbie* and Mrs IB.

Condolences *llondel*

Nothing planned, these are the worst days.

I've had a couple of Henry induced falls recently, recovery takes ages.
I am currently hobbling around with pain in left hip, both knees, and left ankle.
I can't think of a cause but am beginning to suspect the shoes I'm wearing.

Is all.

Commiserations Llondel and as they used to say on Hill Street Blues “ Be careful out there “, mind you most people on here are old enough to know better about pushing boundaries involving gravity :-q

Anyway on a cheerier note, off to CPT tonight, my local steakhouse is advertising gluten free diet, t- bone, rib-eye, rump, ribs :D
When all else fails, read the instructions.
