Morning folks. RiS after dinner it is British etiquette for the Ladies to retire to the drawing room, for coffee, leaving the gentlemen to enjoy cognac and cigars in the dining room. GG has not got a problem. Also etiquette dictates that the Gentlemen stand up and open the door for the Ladies. F... off is not required they, if civilised, should understand.
Yes, I suppose I could treat myself to some port thereafter but as I am alone I shall have to be careful how I pass it to myself, lest I pass it the wrong way and have to shoot myself.

ExSp33, which is why hearing aids are coloured red and blue 🤔

Obviously the originator though port and starboard as alien concepts in the central US States.
To compound the problem, they use red for starboard!
Actually maybe BLue for Larboard and Red for StaRboard 😁
What I found most odd, was when I was fitted with my 1st pair and I questioned audiologist as to why the industry had unnecessarily replaced a system that had operated for hundreds of years, she claimed that no one else had ever mentioned it.

"including a dining table."

I trust it wasn't in use at the time. :-o

All the best to the cousins for Independence Day. I really hope you can get a firm grip on this bloody virus and enjoy yourselves safely.
Thanks Magnus :YMAPPLAUSE:
I hope your "Freedom" (Return to the pubs) :YMPARTY: goes well and doesn't copy what we saw over the Memorial Day weekend and the (all together too early) re-opening of states here. :-o X(

As far as Covid numbers go I find this interesting:
Cases: USA 2.8 million
UK 280,000

Deaths: USA 130,500
UK 44,000
Source:NBC News reports, Johns Hopkins University Coronavirus Resource Center, state government leaders and health officials.

Not exactly proportional. :-?

A bit more of Ops- Normal with some wise words added to the conversation if you don't want to leave the meeting.

Here is an etiquette question: in a situation like that what is the right thing to do for the gentleman co-hosting the dinner - stay in the conversation looking at the attractive guest discreetly or excuse himself and move to his man-shed?
RiS I suspect I will remain a friendly but distant, and largely silent, figure at dinner. As for the "looking at the attractive guest" as the good book did not say "if thine eye causes thee to sin, then pluck it before your better half does!" :)
When I was in Coventry University a UK student we shared the student accommodation with, taught me how to look at a girls cleavage without her understanding. When I mentioned his points to a lady friend she said we fail both and the lady would understand it.

I checked in the local Thanks God is Friday does something special for the day and they ignored it.

Septics don't do maths.

They think it's magic wot's done at the checkout till of a supermarket checkout stall by a wonderbrillant pricemaker.

They don't understand how it works.

I have just retired for the evening letting the two friends have a chat. The evening was not at all like I expected and we had a delightful evening without anybody talking at anybody else! Women can be great fun to talk to at times... :)

Excitement reigns. Off to the barber in an hour for a number three. Who would have thought such small things would have meant so much?

PHXPhlyer if the heat is dry even 40 C or the equivalent in the "the land of the free and the home of the brave", but it also helps to have plenty of water for shower.

TGG could you be a bit more specific about " anybody talking at anybody else"?

I put up some linen to dry before the forecasted TS later today.

RiS, he covered that earlier. In an aviation context, both women in transmit.
Actually that is pretty normal. Our next door neighbour is the strong silent type, goes for long solitary walks. Wife in permanent transmit. (-|

Wife in permanent transmit.
A design flaw on many of the type, seems to be hereditary on the female side.
Fortunately when my wife meets her female friends for a group cackle, they go out, or meet at home when they know I'm not going to be there.

Morning all,
after a strange day yesterday when it didn't get sunny until 16.00 as the sea mist never really burnt off,
we are, as reported, back to normal, clear, blue and 26 rising.
Pond still requires a little attention and the BBQ needs preparation for the ritual.

I hope the director in Austria concentrates on the midfield which shows great promise, c'mon Lando.
