I have always viewed the 'maritimers' with suspicion having met 'Gladys' from the Shackleton force in the mess at Leuchars on a Friday beer call a few times, particularly when 'he' was set up to try and seduce the Stn Cdr. =))

Had the jab, very efficient, every office manned by doctor, nurse, whoever. Given a label and off to the room, only once in each room. One way system.
No sensation at all.
No reaction at all my Mrs PN or me. I had even forgotten I had it. OTOH Mrs PN 's mother had a swelling and her son in law had an adverse reaction as did his wife. They went to a chemist rather than a doctor.

I think the Royal Derby Hospital must be in apres moi le deluge mode.
I think you could well be right JIm. I've had a flurry of calls to come in for various tests
and procedures.

Fairly cloudy here and 10C.

We went for our flu jabs yesterday expecting to find a long queue as per previous years, two people were wandering out as we arrived but it was otherwise deserted apart from the staff. It was set up in the open area of the local Primary Care Centre with three or four temporary cubicles each with two nurses. Having checked in we were told to go and wait 'over there' (about three yards away) but before we could get 'there' we were called forward to be jabbed. All in all, it took about twenty minutes to get there, have the jab and get home again. I had no reaction but SM's shoulder is still sore. I commented to the staff on the lack of customers and got the impression that they were expecting more people to have turned up.

GG, Mrs PN suspects the after effects depend as much on the person doing it (accuracy) as opposed the effects.

Both Mrs 4ma and myself have a slight soreness and stiffness in our shoulders and we were jabbed by different nurses.

First time tonight we have a glimpse of the setting sun it will now appear more Southerly every day and give a winter of spectacular sunsets.

This is tonight's poor effort.

Local Pyrenees all snow-covered. Glistening in sun until rain returned.

flairs for night operations.
What did they wear during the day?

How does a flu jab disseminate into the body?
It doesn't appear to be into a vein.

N E Spain has gone from summer to winter with no autumn. No golden and russet leaves, no crispy days. Just cold and wet and dark dawns. Most depressing.

Spring has certainly sprung here in Waikerie. The grape vines are now greening up quite nicely and a good crop is expected next vintage from what I hear. Daily temperatures now in the low to mid 20's. Hit 30C a few days ago. Summer.....bring it on!! :-bd

Had another review at the Hospital in Adelaide where I underwent the hip replacement and the Medicos are most happy. X rays showed that the stress fracture on the opposite side is healing quite nicely and the area around the replacement is doing likewise. :-bd Still a bit of pain but am able to ignore that. Not so the pain from my old Spinal injury of 28 years ago which, because of the change in Seasons, is giving me a fair problem! :-q Painkiller use has increased again!

Was also sternly warned by the Medico not to even think about trying to get back into the Pawnee Glider tug until at least the end of November. Will obey order, as he described in lurid detail just what might happen if everything went wrong. :ymsick:

Spent a quiet afternoon resizing, trimming and cleaning some ADI 308 Winchester cartridge cases.

Also missing posts on Hippos. :(

Again a pleasant start here. Mr Sun in attendance but a mere 3C when I got up. Max of 17C expected.

On this day in 1066 William landed on Pevensey Bay with some of his mates looking for a bit of action.
He was probably bored because the pubs were in lockdown due to some plague or other.

Mucho heavy work tomorrow...removing the last of the stones/ rocks near the Nor'West edge of the pool...washing them and depositing into the 'Waterfall walk', and then screeding (?) all that soil in the backyard in preparation for Mr Turf man coming approx. midday Wednesday....and perhaps laying out and cutting into the ground a heap of large concrete pavers...

The gardener asked if he could remove some large stones/granite boulders from the grass bank outside the lounge window as it would make his life easier - he could mow instead of strimming. A couple of the resulting holes are large and Dexter Dog only noticed them this morning. He would not stop barking at them from the comfort of the settee. Took him out so he could nervously sniff round them. All is now quiet.
