According to the BBC there have been a series of earthquakes in the Land of the Kiwi with a tsunami warning.
Take care you folks down there, fingers crossed you're all safe.

Thanks to all who offered gin recipes. Give 'em a try sometime, maybe.
My real sadness is that I was once an enthusiastic Single Malt konosser, (well, all but Islay varieties, couldn't get on with 'em somehow) but with advanced age I find that I'm really limited to one dram a night. Which almost - but not quite - makes it a bit of a waste of time getting the bottle out.

Ian16. Yes, that's what Mrs. ExS initially organised via the Skype website, I.e. they wanted her money first, but then it wouldn’t download the operating system to her IMac, as I've related, but .... it does seem to be working now, fortunately, no idea why we had such trouble. Also, she has established a Skype number with a USA area code, so callers think she is in the US, if they note the preceding 1 international dialling code. ( don't ask ! )I have Skype both on my PC and on Android phones. Works fine to landlines world wide.
It costs me US$10.00 about every 2 years. They debit my Mastercard when my balance drops below $1.00.
Yes, fortunately the biggest, 8.1 offshore, waited until we were up before triggering the order to evacuate coastal areas , which affected us, scurried out of our home and joined the escapees, glad it didn’t happen during the middle of the night. Order now cancelled, we can go home and there is no fear that it has been washed away. Not a false alarm, could have been worse. Although living at the waters edge we are some 50 ft up, so no idea if we would really have been in danger, but better to be safe than sorry. Welcome to New Zealand.According to the BBC there have been a series of earthquakes in the Land of the Kiwi with a tsunami warning

My wishes for a quick end of the seismic activity. Unfortunately pretty often they come in threes.

Dawn here also but looks like yet another cold grey overcast day. A longer sequence of these than we've experienced for months.

Morning all.
Grey cloud covers the sky. Temp is 15c and is forecast for the high today. Yellow warning in place for rain. None has arrived yet, despite those that look for rain saying that it should have and should be.

Morning folks. Three ellies other side of the lagoon munching on the lilies. Clear blue sky and calm. Awaiting water pump engineer.

Jim, slow and steady. I have just finished a bottle of Jamesons I got for Christmas 19. Of course a few stubbies and plenty of fermented grape juice too.

My EU EHIC Health cards expire next month. Anyone heard any more about the World beating Boris card yet?
Mind you, I do have my Boris veterans oyster card from his time as mayor of London. I don't think citizen Khan knows about them

Morning,
same overcast as the other side only 10˚c though, guess is the inevitable and unreachable 18˚c
We have a viewing this afternoon !
As per the yellow warning rain is approaching the western side of the province, may well miss me in the East completely.
I frequently have WhatsApp active on the PC so the typing is easier. Traditionly video calls were not possible.
Yesterday I noticed that the interface has grown a video call icon, what's more it works.
In the spirit of the thread.

I renewed our EHICs before they expired so they're good for about 4 more years. I believe the new one is GHIC? Something like that. It is. Here's a link.
GHIC

Not a bad day on the Humber. Renewed our EHIC's and they are good until 2025 but the way this Brexit has started off it makes you wonder if the Europeans would honour them for the Brits.

Re: The really boring and totally pointless snippets thread IV
Just found this :
The UK Global Health Insurance Card (GHIC) lets you get state healthcare in Europe at a reduced cost or sometimes for free.
If you have a UK European Health Insurance Card (EHIC) it will be valid until the expiry date on the card. Once it expires, you'll need to apply for a GHIC to replace it.
GHIC and EHIC do not replace travel insurance.

Been to the wood yard, between showers, now have sufficient wood to see us through to warmer all day temperatures.
