Tongue piercing can have its attractions.
Re: The really boring and totally pointless snippets thread IV
Reminds me of when I was driving a small rental sedan up near Talkeetna, Alaska. Saw a good sized pickup truck with a large camper bed affixed. On top of same was a motor boat with outboard motor attached, but the eye catcher was a trailer it was pulling with a bright red two place high wing plane. It had folded wings and huge tundra tires. I pulled alongside and yelled "wish I could do that with my Mooney" which was a true statement.
Good judgment comes from experience. Experience comes from bad judgment.

Not sure if that's meant as a dig at me but I will assume it's simply a non-loaded question.9DBx wrote:Bit of a hero to you Capes?Capetonian wrote: ↑Sat Jun 22, 2019 2:24 pmI had lunch in Hout Bay in April and a man on the next table was the spitting image of Eugene Terreblanche. I will unashamedly answer in the affirmative. I admire people who have the spine to stand up for what they believe and to say it out loud. I also admire people whose predictions history has proved correct.
Many years ago I went to a lunch at the Cape Town Press Club, where Eugene Terreblanche was the guest speaker. He had a rare charisma and presence. The was utter silence when he stood up to speak. His opening gambit was :
"Suid Afrika is 'n tweetalige land. South Africa is a bilingual country. Ek sal nou my taal, Afrikaans, praat."
(I shall now speak my language, Afrikaans.)
At this, about half the people in the room stood up and filed out, as he looked on with a benign smile on his face.
As the door closed behind the last person, he said :
"Is there anyone still here who doesn't understand Afrikaans?"
A handful of people, including myself, put our hands up.
He smiled at us, and said :
"Then I will continue in your language, and please forgive my inadequacy in it."

Her boobs were each decorated with a spider web at the centre of which was a silver spider mounted on piercing covering each nipple.

I'm sure I saw a picture in the Sunday Times magazine many years ago which showed him and a few mates dragged out of their car and shot to f*ck by others.Capetonian wrote: ↑Sat Jun 22, 2019 6:51 pmNot sure if that's meant as a dig at me but I will assume it's simply a non-loaded question.9DBx wrote:Bit of a hero to you Capes?Capetonian wrote: ↑Sat Jun 22, 2019 2:24 pmI had lunch in Hout Bay in April and a man on the next table was the spitting image of Eugene Terreblanche. Where did last week go? Time's wingèd chariot and all that. Survived the trip to deepest Essex last weekend. The Christening was interesting. Coffee and cake served before the service as it is every Sunday. A wannabe rock band with flute and violin did the music. I knew neither tunes nor words. Thus it was odd to recite the 'proper Creed' in the midst of all this. Yes, the Rev did wear jeans and a tee as did the other officiants. Afterwards, we repaired to young cousins' place for an excellent bbq lunch. They were very proud of the expensive motorised awning and showed it off when it began to rain. It was retracted after five minutes because the rain was 'too heavy.' You can imagine the East Enders ribbing about that! We, aka the North London Massive, just smiled.
Typical! There's a heatwave on as I leave the UK.

Morning folks. Nice day, getting used to these temperatures only 24° but no pully. See it is 6° at home at the mo. Our woofter was supposed to fly home to Stockholm today but they will not let him out for at least another 3 days. Suspect it may be an aeromed job. May have to get the embassy involved.
Pretty quiet here not too many tourists up in the village. My chair is next to the family bakery. Low season they do not bake on a Sunday but they have today. Loads of bread just gone down to the port so guess it is busy down there.

Yet another sunny dawn in London. Cool out but will be warm later. Off over to Spitalfields to look for books. Unlike the Kindle-oriented wife, I like paper.

Morning.
Wall to wall blue out there again. 19c at the moment.
Grandchildren arriving about midday for an overnight stay.
Schools finished for the summer last Friday.
Tonight is San Juan celebration.

Woken by the dawn chorus both grandsons on a stop-over who both want fed and watered at this time on a Sunday morning ; have they never heard the term 'lie-in'.
Overcast, sun hiding behind the clouds. We're going to have a heatwave? Can't be true, it's summertime.

Morning all.
I'd like to say it's a beautiful sunny day but it isn't the sun is shrouded in haze at present.
No doubt it'll burn off soon though.
Sunday lunch prepping to be done. Slow roast leg of lamb, Greek style . i.e. lots of lemons and garlic.
Recipe says 7 hours of total cooking time so a leisurely trip to the pub can be fitted into the timetable.
Shall just do some boiled Jersey Royals and broad beans to accompany it.

Is the Amorgos wedding over ? Have been following the story with fascination....
Re: The really boring and totally pointless snippets thread IV
ET was involved in that AWB action in Bophuthatswana in 1994. He was not one of the three shot, and as Slasher said, he survived until he was murdered on his farm in 2010, supposedly by two workers. His death remains somewhat shrouded in mystery.I'm sure I saw a picture in the Sunday Times magazine many years ago which showed him and a few mates dragged out of their car and shot to f*ck by others.

Re: The really boring and totally pointless snippets thread IV
My dear chap, they are so disorganised we have no idea. Groom pitches up at breakfast on his own. Asked him how much longer they are staying, he didn't know. Apparently they had a civil wedding in Finland but as she is Greek Orthodox this was just a blessing by the priest here. Groom is a realy nice guy, she is a complete nutter. He keeps asking for more and more things. There seems to be no shortage of cash. He paid a 5,000€ deposit. They didn't go all around the island yesterday.
Nutter has just pitched up.
Now have to phone the woofter. Mrs Ex-Ascot has just removed everything from his apartment that was likely to walk out on it's own. Apparently it was a bit 'orible.

Morning all,
100% cloud cover drifted in from the West so it remains cool at 22 and between 70 and 80 % humidity depending on where I check.
Looks like a normal Sunday, dogs, garden, ritual butty, GP and maybe pool vac.
