Went for a run into Somerset on the Tracer this morning, heading south from Yeovil a familiar shape flew over me heading north, a Shorts Skyvan, I didn't know there were any left in service, possibly dropping parachutists somewhere.
Very muggy, just watered the allotment and off for Sunday lunch at the pub, this week it is the Swan in Stur, I hope to have a pie.

Best thoughts for recuperations for them as needs it.

This is one of the frequent evenings when I've nothing to write about, so I'll do it.
Nothing.
There, I've done it.

(is that boring and pointless enough?)

Well up to standard, Rev!
Currently experiencing Thor chucking Mjolnir about chez moi. Ironic, as I am about to rebuild a section of my barn that was struck and burned by lightning in 1943.

Ta Fox. Makes me look good too, considering the problems I had initially in March.

When I get back after my visit home I'll be assigned 2 new infants starting from scratch again. I just hope they'll be intelligent and committed as my first boys were.

Of course I'd prefer training and CCQing rated crew. Command upgrade is my forte but I have to master treading water first before I start swimming.

I just heard on my old mob's grapevine that FEEL THE PAIN BABY! can't find a job anywhere. He blew 5 screenings straight during the initial interview process. He's ben advised by one of the local captains that he's friends with to urgently see a shrink.

Personally I reckon he belongs in a padded cell. Flew very well surprisingly and knew his sh!t.

If you have done too well, they'll start chucking the problem children at you!
Hopefully your initial start will mean your boss will give you another normal crew or two first.

Yes Fox. They did say my first 2 kids in April will be the smartest on the block as a way of "easing me in", and progressively give me the dumber children.

My roster is interrupted now and then by the odd LOFT with rated crew. A LOFT is primarily a reinforcement exercise before a PC next day. It's not a checking role and categorised as training. Those are dream days and actually quite fun. Recall my story earlier giving the F/O a free play of a full spin!

Mostly cloudy this morning. 12c going on 22C

Well done Slasher. Must give you quite a sense of achievement.

Slept well for once last night. Think it may be down to exhaustion watching the cricket, whiskey and paracetamol.

Ibbie, I admire you for starting such a project in such conditions.I hope the end result would be satisfying.

Instead of a bier last nigh I ordered a Gin and Tonic. More expensive but a decent alternate over beer.

Slasher, I hope you get some female to train them.

Morning folks. Well done Capt must be very satisfying to get kids to that level. Send your nutter F/O to Qatar because we are never flying with them again. Cabin crew fantastic but every thing else *****. Had words with the cabin supervisor last night. Told him not even bother putting it in his flight report it will go no where. Even ran out of fizz on the last sector. Sure it wasn't anything to do with us. Or maybe it was. Not enough fingers to list the problems. Just passing Harare. Should go past our pad soon.

We both slept well over night. Flat beds but no mattress or duvet like EK.

Hopefully the Rag head captain will not kill us on arrival JNB. If he does nice knowing you guys.

War against the ants started. Must have eliminated 0.0000000000000000000000000000001% of the ones living under this house yesterday. They only come up when they smell water. Billions more living under every rock on the mountainside, winter and summer. Anyone know where I can buy a pair of anteaters.

Morning all,
27 for a guess of 32,
Went playing squeaky ball with H yesterday about 5, the breeze was like a dog breathing it was SO warm, Be the same today.

Me waiting for the builder to turn up, we told him to do this in March or April as it would be too hot on the front later, but he knew best ............

Got a viewing later, SM is not coming from the pictures it's too small for the four of us.

Spain is one contiguous anthill, we get professional powder by the Kg from the Olive Oil Cooperative, find the source and powder both ends of the trail.
I have a manic expert for hire :)

You could always eat the ants :
Eating ants and other insects could soon be recommended to protect against cancer.
A series of experiments by Italian scientists show that the ubiquitous invertebrate - in common with others such as grasshoppers and crickets - contains high concentrations of antioxidants.
The compounds are important for reducing chemical reactions in the body that produce free radicals, which are themselves believed to raise the risk of cancer.
They are difficult to eliminate, they are highly structured and resourceful and will always find a route round any obstacle put up against them.

I am surprised about the Ex-A's journey as I've usually heard that QR are excellent, although I've never flown them and never will, along with any airline from Kamil Fakir countries, or Israel. Possible exception Oman Air as I'd like to go to Oman.

Our friends who will 'never again' fly with Scummirats are about to leave on their umpteenth trip to ZA with them. It's all about price for them, or as they prefer to call it, value for money. They don't seem to accept that the more you pay the more value you get.

Morning all, head hurts ( see Cricket thread), looks like another fine day with max of 19C guessed at. MrsWoody has reported that the man shed has been completed over the weekend, need to get home before she arranges it :-o
When all else fails, read the instructions.

Do go to Oman. It's a lovely place. Not at all what you might expect of "the war torn Middle East". Avoid summer, though.

UP, flying low over Oman, as you do, we came across some tyre tracks, just one Landrover size. We followed to see what was at the end - nothing. The tracks just stopped, or started, nothing there at all.

we didn't, at the time, consider a helo drop off or pick up as our biggest helicopter at the time was a Wessex. Odd anyway as no other sign of habitation.

By day a desert. By night camp fires everywhere.
