Re: The really boring and totally pointless snippets thread IV
Saturdays in Suburbia eh? ....... I've re potted the hanging baskets that hang from the New Caledonian Pine, the Lorikeets & Magpies fed, lawns mowed, and a chat to the neighbours out on the street re the state of things in general.
Jump in the pool, outside 'shower', crack a cold beer and take in the streetscape from here... .....

Cat turned up early for breakfast. Chopped up a left-over hamburger for him. Sniffed it and walked off. So much for starving feral cats. OTOH the wagtails are still here, eating seeds and nuts on the terrace.

Re: The really boring and totally pointless snippets thread IV
Good morning all.
Yesterday didn't go quite as smoothly as I hoped but not bad.
Billy is swelling again and needs draining once more. The surgeon came to see me
and had a longish chat as to what he saw as the problem and a what he was going to do to
remedy things. First the nephrostomy was put back into play - easy thing to do; take the cap off the end of the tube
and shove it in a bag. That effectively protects Billy from any harm from back pressure. I've now got the weekend for
Wee Billy to slim down and on Monday hopefully he will pop a stent in to my ureter via the nephrostomy. That should
keep the ureter open, stop any back pressure and leave Billy to get on with doing what he's there for. Hopefully that will be
the end of the problem. As the surgeon said, it's only plumbing work, the kidney is working well.
Meanwhile in the real world cloudy, rain and showers ahead. 8°C and tops of 12°C forecast.
Good to hear it went well Jim and good news on the new church passing it's inspection.

Re: The really boring and totally pointless snippets thread IV
Our neighbour's cat is very friendly. Always comes up to say hello and goes on the garage or even the car. She even went nose to nose with our terrier. The went to rub her head on the side of the Scottie. Having got that close she swung a right hook - missed.
We also have a selection of hobby sheep near us. A brave one went nose to nose with the dog, through the fence. When she tried to lick the Scottie's nose the Scottie jumped 4 feet back.
In another field with commercial sheep, about 10 stood shoulder to shoulder like a Welsh rugby scrum. That scared her.

Unusual to say the least to find a plumber doing surgery. But the reverse may be true.

Recently tried to comment on PPRuNe regarding the mid-air collision in Colorado this week. Basically questioning the need to instal ADSB in everything, local microlights included, at high expense, if accidents like this are still going to happen ? I was forbidden to post on the relevant thread, so asked why on their equivalent of this thread.
I got this reply.

Morning all.
Lovely clear blue here. 17c and going up.
Feel back to normal this morning. took 36 hours for side effects of Pfizer two to subside.
Taking Ed to the large Italian lady for a wash and haircut at 13.30. Only charges €10.

Beautiful day aqui,
24˚ should get to 28˚or more - did yesterday, cloudless and million mile viz.
IKEA blackout blinds to fit.
Still in discomfort from fall, ribs and shoulder stbd, port leg and foot sore too.
SM has ordered a lightweight duvet for the oncoming summer.
DHL and NEXT say they have solved the customs problem post brexit.
The duvet is stuck in Sevillia since the 6th.

Looking out, at the brief breaks in the cloud and you can see the moisture evaporating in the warm sun at low level, even though the air is relatively cool. Lots of moisture, warm air below and cool air above. I predict we see some good convective storms around this afternoon.
I know I am sad, and should get out more...

Re: The really boring and totally pointless snippets thread IV
Off to hook up the trailer to the car to gather up the soil from some old mole hills - moles dispatched earlier in the year - before I get the large grasscutter out to cut the 3 acre field that Dexter Dog uses for exercise - and where I sometimes fly my model aircraft. Should have enough soil to fill in where large stones have been removed from a grass bank elsewhere. Can't believe it's mid May before the field is getting the first cut - where's the warm weather? Still waiting for the beech trees in the wood to unfurl their lime green leaves, must be about 3 weeks late due to the cold temperatures.
The helicopter pilots' mantra: If it hasn't gone wrong then it's just about to...

My response ... Goodbye PPRuNe.
I have on occasion wondered, purely out of curiousity whether the Towers occasionally lurks upon this esteemed site.
Mods may know but I do not expect them to confirm or deny.
IMHO, most unfair!Blocked you long ago due to your interminable ancient stories.

Re: The really boring and totally pointless snippets thread IV
Just heard the unmistakable sound of a Merlin engine at full chat and I bounded into the soggy garden just in time to see a Spitfire spearing between the broken banks of strato-cumulus, direct on track to North Weald. Can't find any radar info! A ghost aircraft, my mind wandering, or one of the North Weald aircraft, without a transponder?
Ah twas G-CICK.
Not so much dead on track as heading south, east of North Weald.

B cold further north no signs of warmth but enough wet to make it miserable but not wet the ground.
