Sitting at Crests with a soft drink
Told not to sit next to my wife. Have to sanitize everywhere.

Morning from Perry Oaks International, where your key worker is sitting drinking tea as our next arrival isn't scheduled until 12.10 GMT. departure for Nairobi has 16 pax booked.
When all else fails, read the instructions.

Another summery morning in London. Won't last past tomorrow I hear, so walk this morning, snooze in garden this afternoon. Hard work, this isolation.

Ex-A, you may not have the golden arches in Bots, but there is a KFC in Molepolole. Enjoy.

Got a touch of gout this morning. At the uncomfortable, throbby stage, ice pack and pain killers at the ready.
Won't be able to do the daily walk into town..... .....just remembered.

Hope you're fast over that, it's possibly the most painful thing I've ever experienced. I assume you know about the meds available.

Ha Ha found a pub open. Not sure if it is legal but our local safari camp is serving pop. Meeting with the chief there tomorrow about a neighbourhood watch scheme. After our bashing the lagoon residents are very concerned. Only a handful of us here. Asked if we should bring our own booze, they said no problem they will sell it. Manageress told me it was a meeting not a party. Is there a difference?
Not a single case of beer virus here YET. They are taking it all extremely seriously. Getting so used to being slammed with hand gunk I thought the dispenser on the bar was this stuff. Got into a horrible mess, it was liquid soap on its way to the bathroom. Botswana is closed apart from residents who on entry have to lock themselves up for 14 days.
Pre lunch scotch time by the pool, broken cloud but warm.
Magnus I think that we will skip the KFC. In fact we have one here in town opened about two years ago.

Hello folks.
Busy morning, gloved and masked up, gathering supplies.
Sunny day for a change, the carp will be back in a few days though.
Just having a couple of Hollands meat growelers for lunch.

Another very nice day, clear sky and heading towards 19C. Just ticked another major job off the list (until SM thinks of another one) - cleaning the front drive. it was laid to paving blocks shortly after we came here and I've only cleaned it once in the ensuing ten years. Thank goodness for jet washers!
Now revert to catering mode for lunch.

When I've talked to the doc about meds for gout, he's told me that they may conflict with other stuff I have to shove down my throat on a daily basis. He's prescribed codeine for when the pain gets too much; anti-inflammatories are a no-no for me.Capetonian wrote: ↑Thu Mar 26, 2020 12:00 pmHope you're fast over that, it's possibly the most painful thing I've ever experienced. Re: The really boring and totally pointless snippets thread IV
I am intrigued why? - is it because of a conflict with other medication? - or is it an intolerance/allergy?

Walk this morning to the pharmacy. Turned down for *** which is OTC as I have retina problems. The *** was only for fun and frolics anyway. Back on street, everyone standing well apart. Corner shop guy told me his 86 year old granny had Corvid-9 and recovered.

Re: The really boring and totally pointless snippets thread IV
G'day,
Been quite pleasant all day only 18 but nice in the sun.
Provisions day for me too, gloved and masked. Some supermarkets operating free for all, others (Lidl) operating limited numbers inside, one out one in.
Some sanitising hands, even gloved, some not bothering. Strange.
Not a single Police or Guardia seen, certainly no roadblocks either.
I don't think I will need to go out for provisions until at least Monday. Taking Henry to the vet tomorrow.
Time to Snake and Pygmy so it can slow cook.

Re: The really boring and totally pointless snippets thread IV
I drove Mrs C16 and Dexter Dog into Stonehaven earlier. Stopped at the Coop garage and shop on the town outskirts. Filled up the car - the central 'aisle' of pumps was closed off so that there was only one customer at each of the double-sided pumps and separation distances were therefore maintained. They were restricting numbers in the shop, but no queues, and Mrs C16 got a few things but was restricted to one 4 pint bottle of milk. Then off to the main Coop store in town. No queues and the car park was at least half empty. She got another 4 pint bottle of milk, bread, veg etc. Still no loo rolls. Everyone being very calm and respective of separation distances.
There are more cyclists than usual on our winding country road. One idiot couple on my side of the road decided to stop just after a sharp left bend. It was only hands like a gunfighter that saved them from being wiped out. Thank goodness no vehicle was coming the other way or it would have been nasty.
Phoned my brother in Devon - he went to Morrisons in Totnes at 0800 today immediately after the NHS priority period. There was a 100 yard long queue. He got everything he wanted and said if he'd gone 15 minutes later he wouldn't have had to queue.

Staying at the safari camp again tonight. Still worried about the ring leader being on the run. Our personal security guard gets to sit outside our tent all night and a toasty and a coca cola. Probably not dined out so well since the British left here. They do have their own guard but it is a large area to cover.
