Monday sees Fliegs begin a small time role administratively within a Pathology company. (Covid), but anyway, it'll be nice to move to another industry! Before first shift there is talk of, (should I be willing to undertake the courses), a more 'clinical' role, with paid in house practical placements as part of the courses. Never would I think I would have the opportunity to move to the Health sector at this stage of life! I'm usually the 'Jabbed' not the 'Jabber'.

Good luck Fliegs. Wish I could find an occupation to keep me busy. The two pensioners' associations are Zooming these days and even if they weren't I'm not travelling through the land of the Gaul.

Thanks OFSO, I've enjoyed not working immensely!, never a dull moment (but probably drank way too much!), 2020 was pointless & The Government were paying a benefit (ie returning some of my lifelong taxes), until March this year. After that apparently Mrs Fliegs makes too much money! (I'd be better off Divorcing and co-habiting, idiots!)...

I have found that as a white hetero middle aged Australian male citizen, I fill no 'quotas'.....and I know what discrimination feels like (Not alone in this regard!)

I really did not want to go back into Strata & Facility Management (commonhold in the UK?), despite companies finding my profile and offering very well paying jobs....they would be very high stress 80hr weeks.....been there done that...no more!!

So it was something of a life preserver tossed to me to start with a Pathology company. No more chairing meetings of stakeholders and raising tons of money for projects. No more back and forth correspondence with Law firms, or sitting in meetings with legal people or copping abuse for legislation I did not write, or endless other abuse or interpreting structural engineer reports or writing tender documents or lodging material changes with the department of Lands or....listening to people complain about residents parking in visitor bays! :( (FFS!, take yourself off to the Childrens hospital & see what people with problems look like!)

I expect it to be rather 'Junior' sort of stuff, and I'm looking forward to that!

Encouraging was the idea that if I took on the courses, they indicated they would support the practical placements to complete the courses! What!! at my age! :0

Just looking for a different direction, and I may have found it.....hopefully... :)

A fishing match? ... I've never heard of such a thing?

Big time activity in the UK, with lots of participants and the possibility of a lot of cash to be won in the major matches. I don't go for the maggot drowning side of the business, much prefer slinging 4ozs of lead at the sea in the (vain) hope of catching something that can form part of one's dinner. Could never get the knack of fly-fishing though I'm sure UP is a master of that particular craft.
4Ma,a local angler won over £150,000 in matches last year.I don't do freshwater match fishing any more.I sold every last bit of my gear.I just do sea/match fishing, plus I get to eat the freshest possible fish.I collect all my own bait from around Hilbre Island, and when I have visited church I make leads for people. :-bd

These days the Mersey is one of the cleanest rivers in the country but people speak with no knowledge and make reference to the 50,s and 60,s.Its not every river in the country has a salmon run every year.

The Spitty looks like a lot of fun.....I would not know where to begin with the R44 though, well, perhaps....The Father in Law was an Iroquois Gunship pilot in Vietnam, and out in the shed I have a rather large amount of material relating to Helis & being an Officer in the RAN....not much of which I understand, at least not that I have read! :/

Good God GG. That is all the instrumentation that you have? :-o No wonder it is called an egg whisk. All you can do is time the cooking of an egg.

Hope things work out Wodders.

Wodrick, if the health bods up here can't fix you in the town of Figueras you are sent to the province capital of Girona. If Girona can't fix you it's off to the capital of the country, Barcelona. It's a recognised process which results in no messing about locally.

That is a more of an egg-whisk as it is an R-22, G-JSAK, whereas this is the aircraft I am training in namely G-RMYD which is an R-44. The controls are basically the same mind although the R-22 is much more twitchy than the R-44...

Another fire north of us this afternoon, leaving us well kippered by smoke. Under control now but not out. The fifth or six in four weeks, I disremember. One magnificent avenue of majestic trees gone on a regular drive of mine. Heartbreaking.
