When I started at Dan Air in 1972 the chap I replaced could do just that, a party piece. Where are you now AV ?

Weather rough today, severe storm F11 just up the road. Both ferries cancelled today but tomorrow should be OK. Pleased about that as I have to visit Kirkwall for my annual eye test ("at risk" of retinopathy because T2 diabetes) and also call in at Balfour hospital to see the diabetes nurse who is always up for a chat. Will take my own scran as I don't trust the eateries on mainland, food is OK it's the coronavirus that scares me. So it's 2.5 hours there and 2.5 hours back.

The noise of that aircraft taking-off at the beginning of that video brings back memories of Luton airport in the 1960s in the early hours of the morning when I had been sleeping until then.

Bad news in UK for chocolate lovers..

Hotel Chocolat has a half price sale some festive ranges. The bad news is some sold out as the Tipsy one was delicious.

Today, Thursday 21 Jan 2021, is the 21st day of the 21st year of the 21st century.
Yet another piece of useless information to clog up the memory banks.
Yes, and my Niece turned 21 Yesterday!!

Off to Jupiters tonight for a cocktail party...

THey changed the name to Star, but for 30 odd years it was 'Jupiters'...

Morning, all. Milder today, may get some precipitation. Shopping day within our municipality so will be seeing different faces, or rather, masks.

Greetings to you all from a CAVOK Heart of the National Forest in the UK.
Temperature is currently 2°C but feels like -3°C but that should change soo as
Mr Sun is just about to poke above the horizon. Forecast for a bright and sunny day
with a high of 6°C.

Nothing planned, another Groundhog Day.

Morning everyone, 1C here at the moment, guessers aiming for 7C as a maximum, but heavy snow heading our way on Sunday, which reminds me that today is FRIDAY for the confused amongst us :-bd
When all else fails, read the instructions.

The kitchen has lots of very small ants running around. Nothing we can do. Last week making hooch they had found their way into a tightly sealed jar of sugar. We moved all the bags of sugar into the dressing room. They found them there. They are so small even if you sieve the sugar water some go though the sieve. So we have 'Ant Wine'. Not original though.

Morning folks.
I concur that it is FRIDAY again.

Clear blue sky out there, temperature 14c and going up to 17c it is rumoured.

Recycling today for me, Mrs IB is doing the washing. Not a lot else on the agenda.

Is UP selling off
One of the world’s rarest whiskies is examined before going under the hammer. The Macallan 1926 Fine and Rare 60 Year Old is expected to beat the world record price of £1.2 million when it is sold next month.
If you bought it would you drink it?

An amazing sight. Sky to the west black as night while we were in sun. Against the black sky hundreds of brightly-lit seagulls flying in a clockwise spiral. Why?

Later: now pouring with rain. Was that why?
