I think buying a new fridge is easier than a new pool.

One of the toughest dilemmas in life
Mine has just been whether I should have Brie de Meaux with my biscuits or Crumbly Cheshire.
I decided on both. 1st World problem solved. :D
However, a Château Pichon Baron, 2nd Grand Cru, Pauillac, 2016 or a Bottle of Aldi's finest glugging to accompany ?

Decisions, decisions ....... :D

Answer: it was the Aldi's

Burp :ymblushing:

If the part for the fridge is circa $850, presumably + labour, then how much is a new fridge with a new warranty etc ?

No contest in my book.

Waiting to hear back from the owner of the repair place.
Tech was a total ass and went back and BSed his boss. [-X I talked to the boss this morning and he is supposedly checking how extensive the repairs need to be. Tech wanted to replace a few parts not entirely necessary. His theory was that the "might be bad". L-) :-q ~X(

PP

edit:
I'm on the hook for $130 so far just for him showing up. The single part is only about $70 or so I think.
Boss claims bad control board causing other part to fail and tech wanted to replace control interface as well. #-o
If they won't compromise it will be a new one.
This one came from an outlet with as new warranty. I will check there again later today.

The words London Bridge made me jolt upright momentarily.

I wonder what the contingency plan is for the ceremonials if she does croak during the Cv19 thing. :(

Even da Germano-Greek matelot, being drawn on a gun carriage, with an empty horse and his green wellies back to front in the stirrups just behind it, would draw a crowd.

Morning folks, another nice day should make 30°. So RiS is Greek punctuality different in the military to civi life. If so, when leaving the military why do they go back to their old ways, except you of course, old friend. I guess celebrations in Greece tomorrow will be a damp squid. On Amorgos there will be a service at Panagia, which actually overlooks our house. Limited number and no festival.

Pools; us slight leak. They left a nut or bolt in the concrete on the bottom which has rusted through the sealer paint. We had an airlock the other day so could be a leak in the outlet pipe, dunno. We are losing about a cm a week.

New guard rules seem to be working well. BUT, I told him to flash the spot light around, 01.00, 02.00, 03,00 he shines it straight through our bedroom window. This is 4,000 lumens with a range of 650 m from 6 m. At 03.00 I threw the window open and shouted at him. In eight years only the second time I have shouted at staff. Chucked in the odd 'F' word as well. He is our local pastor, I think that I got my message across, well it didn't happen again.

Five or six drops of rain yesterday and now back to the drought. A facility storing ammonium nitrate caught fire yesterday, down Barcelona way. No bang but lots of bright red smoke. Very pretty.

Morning everyone, just got to say that last nights pyrotechnics display was by far the largest I’ve ever seen in this country, fortunately not much came overhead, but it lasted for well over an hour and the rainfall was heavier than any I’ve witnessed, even in Jockistan :-o
When all else fails, read the instructions.

Massive overnight storm with a lightning bolt hitting the steeple of the church at the bottom of the road! The resulting thunder clap set off all the car alarms in the street!

Cool and misty this morning and humidity comfortable.

Morning folks

Usual CdS weather. Presently 24c heading into the 30s again later.

New clock to be put up in kitchen today.

Not much else planned, as it's FRIDAY.

OFSO, would it be possible to place waterproof membranes over inlet and outlet on the pool to be held in place by pressure? That might work and save water loss?

Thinking back, we had leak shoppers on the Vulcan. From dim memory, about 12 inch square butyle sheet, backed by metal mesh and reinforced with metal rods. I thing the idea was to put them over any holes caused by a near miss from a SAM or bullet holes. As the entire cabin was lined with electrical panels, obstructed with electronic cans, and otherwise out of reach, I don't know if they could have worked. They were removed in 1964.

The boss wanted us to do the guard duty on time. What airmen (most fairly well connected) do have other priorities. And thank you about your kind words about my punctuality.

Regarding light shone at your window: are you sure there weren't a lack of instructions about where to shine the light and just did to show he was around? Maybe a check-list is in order.

Morning all,
Normal CdS 28c target 31c cloudless.

Some minor tasks to perform.

When I had a new Pump and filter fitted they covered the skimmer and drain with shopping bags, negligible water loss.

I don't know of our game in the 60s, long before the Americans invented 'Jet noise the sounds of Freedom' was known to Ex-A, but when we were pounding the circuit at O'Dark hundred it was 'one up, all up'.

The locals rarely complained. Even at Waddington the alert sirens were practically in the village.

"He is our local pastor, I think that I got my message across, well it didn't happen again."

As far as my limited knowledge of the scriptures goes, I think God only said 'Let there be light' once? You should be alright - unless, of course, his curiosity with 'Twin Squirrels' overcame his godliness....................
