Wodrick, I, too, am delighted that your timetable for replacing a beloved pet was moved up for ya! When we lost Copper, it was an unprecedented shock for both of us, and we did not have the additional pressure of a heart broken companion who did not understand. Finally, our thinking was that Copper would have wanted us to be happy not sad, and hence the addition of a new and then yet another new companion to our household. I know you will all have a wonderful time together.

And OFSO, yer wife has talent!! Great piccie.

Heart fettlers orders, Capn, but I'll show him your video next week at my next appointment! Got orders to lose a few kilo's... Think i put on a few kilo's the past few weeks working darn sarf & using the company credit card for meals... ;)
Mexican or pizza most nights... And a few margaritas...
The older i get the more my weight and blood pressure go up... :(
As long as my heart fettler has an endless supply of drugs to keep me alive, i reckon i can continue my unhealthy lifestyle.... :)

When I am with my non native English speaking crew,

Flying with one of our ex WW.II Polish Captains, whose English had not improved a lot, me trying to get Teheran ATC on HF, half a dozen attempts, slower and more deliberate until I finally threw off my headset and uttered a few choice Anglo Saxon epithets. My friend, I will try, said the Captain, and proceeded to give our position report in totally unintelligible English. Teheran came straight back ! You bastard, I said, how did you do that ? He just smiled and said " It's the way you hold your mouth" !

Wonderful Wodders. Guess he will grow into the bed.

Blazing sunshine it is going to be another warm one. Just been out to the boat to start the engine to get the fuel out of it for the winter. Thieving black b@stards have stolen the brand new battery. It wasn't expensive but it is the inconvenience. They are so stupid. Mentioned before, they stole the engine off their own community boat.

Managed to replace the pop up sprinkler with an old one. Got soaked adjusting the angles of coverage but at least it works now. You have to screw it or unscrew it for one angel of fire then for the opposite limit there is an adjustment screw. I think that he has the banana irrigation stop cock open too far today as the croquet lawn isn't completely covered.

Speedy, I still wake up in the night screaming, 'Bombay, Bombay, Bombay'.

Good morning.

Another Poets day is amongst us.

Blue sky with a few clouds and a slight breeze out there.

Visit to Ayuntamiento this morning to bay IBI, basura and car tax.

I hope the new spotty one had a good night, Wodrick

Sunny day up here also with a cold wind.

Town halls up here do everything by direct debit. I suspect employees not allowed to handle cash. Wonder why.

Panic amongst UK residents locally who have been driving on UK driving licences which will lose their validity after March 29th. Or May.....Or June....or whatever. So they need Spanish driving licences. Friends here in Roses told they cannot get an appointment at the 'Policia' in Girona or Barcelona, but must drive 225kms each way to Tarragona as the office there has time to see them. Spanish being 'normal' or being 'difficult' ? Qué saps !

It is the same here *OFSO* . Can I suggest they use a Gestoria as they have a special desk at Trafico, no queue but obviously a cost involved. I am one of those panicking just didn't think of it so I am medical tonight and Gestoria on Monday.

"Henry" slept perfectly once moved to my room, six hours straight then started crying which turned out to be morning ablutions required.

Guess that they are from here then.

Wonder how we stand as Botswana residents with Botswana driving licences gained on the strength of our UK licence driving in Greece then? :-? Mrs Ex-Ascot thinks that for just 3 months we will be OK. Basically there on holiday.

I wonder if you have to have a medical in Greece to transfer to Greek licence, RiS? Cos a friend of ours will not pass. Over 65 she just filled in a form for the UK authorities to say that she was fit. The community are trying to get her banned, this may be a way.

If you try to us the web site to get a UK licence on the strength of a foreign one, that you obtained on the strength of your UK one, there is a problem!

There is a drop down for the country where you passed your driving test, it doesn't include UK or England, Wales, Scotland or N. Ireland.

This was some months ago, it might be fixed now.

They have already gone to the Gestoria. Hope it's not the one who was supposed to re-register my motor yacht. Nineteen years later, still waiting and boat long gone.

Driving licence: a control by the Guardia up in the mountains of my Spanish-registered car parked on the frontier. Look at British driving licence. "You non-resident, then ?" Me:"Yes". Guardia :That's fine, then."

Can't pay in cash. Payment by plastic only at Town Hall. Also, got a one page multi receipt for payment and not four seperate ones and a summary as in years gone by. A reduction in official paper in Spain....unheard of!

Now who taught them that?

NB: BA is plastic only for cabin fare.

Easiest method of dealing with Spain is the French Technique. Live there all year round as 'tourists'. Thousands in my own urbanisation, never re-regeresting cars, never paying taxes. If Spanish weren't so idle someone from the Ajuntament might drive round and check, but too much trouble. OFSOs only visit now four months a year until house sold. When it is, never again.

A 5 star Severn bore this morning. One photographer got a little bit too close the river edge. The picture at the link was too large to be inserted directly into this post.

ExSp33

That brings to mind several tales,I did one, but the best had to be the HF call to Karachi. Delivered in the best curry accent the response was in perfect English "and you better be a bloody Pakistani when you land"

On these big tides we sometimes get a Mersey bore which dribbles up towards Warrington.Sadly nothing as spectacular as the Severn bore.
