Some also confuse it with 'give' as in, 'can I borrow some sugar?'

Or toilet roll, as if they will bring it back.
One of the judges with whom I worked often came in and asked if he could borrow my sellotape.

... and Jim, from his usual place at the end of the queue, adds delight at the return of our old mate.

Don't forget Friday tomorrow.

Great news HF, and don't do it again [-X

We wanted to take the boat out this morning as it is a great day for it but too many hippos around. Not very relaxing spending all the time on hippo watch. Then one goes down and you have to guess where it is going to pop up. Or, in the case of our attack where it is going to leap up and try to destroy the vessel.

Friday; fruit and banana watering day. One of the coppers here the other day wanted to pick lemons. He would have taken a barrel load. Mrs Ex-Ascot gave him two.

Just went out to move wife's sculptures away from pine tree to be cut. Tramontana blowing, then hailstorm. This is mid-May in Spain. We had stove lit last night, still leccy blankets in use on bed.

Excellent news HF. Something of a trauma for sure, but those in charge seem to know what they're doing. If only governments were run as efficiently...

Mum visiting at lunchtime; we may even feed her. However, we're also on childminding standby as our daughter might have to take one of her cats to the vet. The cat is MtMM's sister.

Good to see you back HF. What would Friday's be without your confirmation of the day!

I can answer that, without HF the week would only be six days long and we wouldn't know when to prepare for the weekend.

Good to have you back HF.

Smoooooooth. Still a bit of blood in the jolly old whatsit, and it's a bit hurty from time to time, but I was able to be down at church for 5 hours today without needing to gallop to the loo.

I'd called in an elfin safety inspector and he was, let's say, thorough, and I was delighted to hear him say that we'd got nearly everything right, we're legal, and we just need to tweak a few things.... well, that's until his report arrives.
