OK the rag head didn't kill us because it was obviouly an auto land. Now JNB to MUB. Fizz in the lounge. One hell of hike through the airport to get here. Mrs Ex-Ascot was marching ahead as if the fizz was about to evaporate before she got here. Nearly killed me.

Travelling with one of Tom Shephards bundo bashing trips out of Sharjah in '66 we often made use of "Beam me up Scotty", when stuck.Pontius Navigator wrote: ↑Mon Jul 15, 2019 8:31 amUP, flying low over Oman, as you do, we came across some tyre tracks, just one Landrover size. We followed to see what was at the end - nothing. The tracks just stopped, or started, nothing there at all.

From my experience with ants, I recommend only one 'solution' - a syrupy liquid that the ants find irresistible containing a 'poison' that subsequently kills the colony.OFSO wrote: ↑Mon Jul 15, 2019 6:58 amWar against the ants started. Must have eliminated 0.0000000000000000000000000000001% of the ones living under this house yesterday. They only come up when they smell water. Billions more living under every rock on the mountainside, winter and summer. Anyone know where I can buy a pair of anteaters.
All other attacks with fire (petrol poured into the nest) and water (boiling) are futile.
You can make your own mixture with sugar and borax (3 to 1 ratio) with water to create the syrup. Spread pools of the syrup on a glazed tile surface and the ants will carry the syrup back to their nest and feed it to their larvae.

Back from visiting the cow wrestling daughter who is doing quite well I'm relieved to report.
She still has shoulder mobility problems but it's coming along slowly. Her face is now looking quite good as she has had more
surgery done on her lips. They are waiting for the bone to stabilise and then they can think about teeth implants. Poor soul has been through a lot.
Mr Sun is out and so is the lawn mower. Might struggle a bit as the fistula wound on my right arm is still quite fresh. We shall see.

There's a grey one that is a regular visitor to Brize, presumably delivering squishy freight to the local drop site.a Shorts Skyvan, I didn't know there were any left in service
G-PIGY is owned by the OV-10 Bronco display team and is used regularly for hurling people around the sky

Home. Staff waiting for us. Haven't done a full inspection but all looks OK so far. Lagoon very low. Jolly tired. Will do a walk around with our chap in the morning. Hippos.all over the place. They are not happy with the low water. No raki, no chair. Oh well just another 9 months to go.

Off to Italy in a couple of weeks. Usual hotel. SWMBO celebrates a birthday when we're there (I'm far too much of a gentleman to say which birthday), and she has decided to try a tandem paraglide from the top of Monte Baldo for her birthday prezzie. I must remember to tell her which Malcesine lakeside bar I'll be in.

We were well east. The ground looked like soft salt marsh mud, well defined tracks.Alisoncc wrote: ↑Mon Jul 15, 2019 9:33 amTravelling with one of Tom Shephards bundo bashing trips out of Sharjah in '66 we often made use of "Beam me up Scotty", when stuck.Pontius Navigator wrote: ↑Mon Jul 15, 2019 8:31 amUP, flying low over Oman, as you do, we came across some tyre tracks, just one Landrover size. Enjoy Italy, Magnus!
If you fancy a bit of history and some great scenery, may I suggest a day trip to Asiago. The airfield there is the highest in Italy as well as being one of the oldest as it was active in WW1. Lots of battles fought around there. Worth doing some research first and avoid the weekend as most of Vicenza finds its way there.
And for a second bit of trivia the Italians sometimes refer to Lake Garda as the 'padella tedesca' (German frying pan) due to the Germans flooding through the passes each summer, stripping off and turning themselves into a fair imitation of cooked lobsters.

I have been coming across Italians, well I registration cars, today, quite a few of them.
The world is suddenly full again, as usual.
Viewing was the normal junk - too small, pictures do lie.
Pleased young *HF* continues to improve.
Pleased the *Ex-As* made it in one piece
No mention of Kitchen rippers, my men did not trouble the timekeeper again, it's too hot.

I had a brilliant one a couple of years ago. The underside of the clouds was a boiling brilliant red. The only shame was the best horizon of houses that spoilt the balance and of course no time to drive couple of miles.
