Not a heat pump, but Panasonic reverse cycle inverter a/c. We have three. They move heat from outside to inside and inside to outside, as necessary. About €1000 each including fitting. You can get Chinese ones for around €200 each in Spain. Fitting is DIY and not difficult, although I'd get a professional to put the refrigerant in. Most people install cheap ones just before selling their houses. Look good.

I believe I already suggested that you market your guano as "Ex-Ascots' Natural Organic Bots Bat Sh!t Fertilizer". Tag line: "It will do for your garden what it does for the Savanna".
PP
Good marketing can sell any kind of SH!T.

My dear chap, you are telling me that bat ***** goes into my favourite tipple down here I do not think your slogan is going to do much good for the company. Must sell my shares. Suggest that you give up your marketing day job.

Wodrick in Andalucia seems to have about 450 heating degree days per year , Houston appears similar. Both have twice that amount of cooling degree days.
Summerside has around 4,500 heating degree days. Cooling degree day is the 17th August
This would explain the name difference.

I just visited a, stationary, submarine. This year they decided to use a flotation device/harness to control us down the hatch. I had a question that the crew didn't know the answer. Why a torpedo is called "fish"?

RiS, cause it swims? But not all torpedoes are fish. The RN has Tigerfish and Spearfish and the airdropped lightweight torpedo was the Stingray but when dropped we would announce Bloohound Loose and declare the area when it was running as a DogBox.

Just got our latest energy bill, first one since we had the solar panels installed. It's a tenth of what it was last year, and most of it is for gas supply which ramps up in the colder months, and a minimal $10 for electric metering charges (which is set by legislation, not directly by PG&E). I approve of this change.

Probably because it's a shorter word than torpedo and easier to spell.Rwy in Sight wrote: ↑Fri Dec 06, 2019 4:52 pmI had a question that the crew didn't know the answer. Why a torpedo is called "fish"?

Originally referred to as a 'tin fish', subsequently shortened to 'fish'?

Re: The really boring and totally pointless snippets thread IV
Before visiting the military ships, I did a very short shopping stop at the Yellow and Blue Swedish home shop. I only bought what I wanted a SINNLIG a candle on a glass that can be used for short drinks afterwards. Total time there about 25 minutes and a great deal of that time was spent because a lady at the till couldn't coordinate putting the stuff on the surface to be scanned and paying in that order. It goes without saying I vividly recall Slasher's comments about such inabilities.

Good moaning, all. Cold but clear skies here. Maybe the firewood yard will be open today between public holidays on the 6th and 8th. Demos everywhere today: against abuse of women, against fascism, pro the constitution, against the constitution. Greta marches in Madrid. Good luck to 'em all.

Morning.
Tis milder and humidity is down in southern Iberia today. Very pleasant in town walking about this morning. Mucho light cloud about but some blue showing and bright.
Think there should be a demo in Madrid against Greta. I stll have'nt found out how the captain of the ghost U-boat failed to torpedo the sailing ship (mit engine) she crossed the Atlantic in.
