The weather guessers keep announcing rain. It does not arrive.

In days of yore that was a sign of quality.I'd had it for a couple of years before I noticed it is engraved A (crown) M.
White prosperity came tat.
I remember at Stradishall the wheels decided to spend our money on a set of monogrammed cutlery for formal dinners, only a few years before we c!osed. They got it cheap. The Cutler out all the handles on upside down so blades had to be outward.

Morning all,
Cool, calm and steady rain, not a good day for art covens.
Not a good day for chimney sweeps, although that is later.
Not a good day for fixing Wx station on roof either.
In fact not a good day.
There is an amber warning for mañana gusting 80kt and 50mm hourly rain rate.
This is unusual for November.
We don't do decorations, don't do Christmas really.

Morning.
‘Tis grey but dry in Southampton. A small amount of rain later in the day forecast.
Mrs IB advises that it is tipping down back home.
Art has also been cancelled and Ed is refusing to go out in the rain.
Seems I picked a good time to be off the Costa.

It was erroneously packed in my deep sea box and I had to pay about 2/6 for he deficiency.
57 years later, I count it as a good buy.

Evening. 5.35pm here in Crap City China.
Riots by the local Unwashed continue but it’s mainly the idiotic kids doing them now. The next generation up (millennials) appear to have grown small pieces of cerebral grey stuff. Penny, dropped, etc.
Did a 15h 35m duty yesterday. Fell asleep in the car coming back to the pub. Jasper was working and brunged up to me room some of his mum’s soup. I remember slurping it while checking my Co email, then... nothing. Woke up after 11h sleep I estimate. Man I must’ve been absolutely buggered and not realised it.
The 4th 2h LOFT (F/O sesh) was an absolute canine’s repast and required 30m overtime. Fortunately the cadet afterwards did his reinforcement session so well I finished it after 1h iso the assigned two.
Tonight is one 2x2h LOFT with 2 capts who hate each other’s guts in the extreme so I’m told. Client airline has made it very clear apparently that they do the rostered sessions with no swaps. This is gonna be real fun!

Cool and damp, but at least bright here today. One washing out and doing precious little, another in the machine to face the same fate. SWMBO out with friend for coffee/cake/shops this afternoon while I head off to the foot fettler. I may stick some hard rock on the hifi to distract me from the paperwork I'm supposed to be doing this morning. I'm thinking Volbeat.

Slasher from a CRM perspective it would make good story so looking forward to any pearls of wisdom. Was the session planned like that from the company or from your outfit?

Wild boar €12.50 House wine €4.50 a bottle. Whiskey pudding €5.50, all at 3000' in the Pyranees. It only remains to drive back down the mountain road...

I had a teaspoon from AEA Harwell, duly stamped, which mistakenly ended up in my lunchbox after doing an experiment there. Surprised I can't find it now, given it glows in the dark

Once had the pleasure of flying with a CRM disaster before cross cockpit gradient was recognised. I was OK as I was doing the checking. No idea what happened to him in the end, an over promoted Cranwell flt lt. In those days of the 3 year course at Cranwell they were virtually certain of promotion to sqn ldr. In rare cases you were guaranteed to remain a flt lt and pay pegged at 6 years in the rank whereas we direct entry trash enjoyed annual increments for 16 years .Rwy in Sight wrote: ↑Thu Nov 21, 2019 10:31 amSlasher from a CRM perspective it would make good story so looking forward to any pearls of wisdom. Maybe I should start a thread but what can go wrong with those rides? You have the checklist and you act upon them.

Following a splendid lunch, a superb drive home through forests - this year we have AUTUMN which is very unusual. Normally the year plunges from summer to winter - currently everything is in shades of gold and russet. Mozart on the radio, empty roads, sun shadowed mountains. Perfect.

Re: The really boring and totally pointless snippets thread IV
The restaurant used to have a cutting room for the wild boar, which live in the forest to the north, in the cellar. Hung up, drained, cut, served.. Stopped by EU regulations. Now have to be taken 30kms to a certified butcher in a nearby town, prepared, and brought back. Load of nonsense. We also no longer see the hunters eating lunch with their guns leaning against the wall. Blasted nanny superstate.
Re: The really boring and totally pointless snippets thread IV
Our local (village) butcher used to kill on the premises, then it was moved to 5 miles away, now it all has to be done in a centralised abattoir in the neighbouring county.
The butcher used to buy animals directly from the farmer, then at the nearby (5 miles away) cattle market.
Now it is all done directly from a wholesaler.

Did anyone ever get 'sick' from local processing ? Were, in the case of domestic animals, the creatures not humanly killed ? Bloody stupid interference. Makes me very annoyed.

Re: The really boring and totally pointless snippets thread IV
Our local butcher is right next door to the abattoir. Since most of the local farms fatten steers for beef there is a always a good selection. If you look at the tags on the ears of the cattle when out for a walk, you can often see that they are already destined for Waitrose, M&S, Tesco or Sainsbury. The also butcher the boar which are culled in the forest.

Boar are digging up the roadside outside my house. Evil tempered beasts. London better, the foxes just run off and the squirrels only jump you if they think you have digestive biscuits.
