I love the bagpipes and find the sound enthralling and moving, and I know it's an extremely difficult instrument to play, but that young lady is not really much of a player.

Yep, pink gin please!

Ex-A, the solar system was much diminished when Pluto was demoted.

Good evening. Been busy with parents again. House diagnosed with subsidence possibly owing to drainage issues. Repairs will be covered by insurance but I can see the next few months will find me occupied with organising and overseeing this little project. :(

Car has been serviced and MOTd - VW know how to charge! Physio this morning was particularly demanding but leg is now more flexible.

Meanwhile, thanks to a weather bomb in the Atlantic provinces, the Confederation Bridge is closed and Canada is cut off from the Island. High winds of up to 135 km/h, snow and windchill of -19C make it rather sporting out there. 'Put on your tuque' said the weather lady. :D Mr Fox is hunkered down and prepared for any eventuality, apart from the 200lb hot tub cover shifting across the yard. Looking at t'map Stoneboat's shore is on the edge of the bomb. Y'all take care out there.

Sorry to hear that my original idea to fix this went down the toilet (to misquote Theo Kojak). I posted a link to an article on the offending thread that might be of use ExSp33db1rd.

Morning.

The thought of even a sip of that stuff makes me :ymsick:

I'd rater drink orange juice and coke mixed.

Mrs IB has just left for art, as it's Thursday.

Rained earlier, but now brightening from the west.

That's like snorting whiskey, drinking cocaine...

There's so much sugar in Appletizer Ex-Ascot. Better to stick to water. =))

I am sure my advice is as welcome as a porcupine at a nudist colony.

Back in the 60's when Bulmer's were still a family firm, they sold a pure apple juice that had so little sugar content, a diabetic could drink it.

The local GP's 'prescribed' it for most stomach problems.

Can't remember its trade name :(

Fairy Liquid and vodka does the trick ! I remember it being handed out at one of those parties where everyone is Five Sheets, by our host, Pete Hall, Trombone Player Supurbus, sadly no longer on this earth. We all foamed somewhat, looked like a mass rabies attack.

Been wondering where an old golfing and restaurant owning pal had got. Haven't seen him in a long while.
Found out this morning that he died back in 2016.

Hello,
A miserable day still, some light rain overnight which had ceased by dog emptying time.

We have put Slinky back on the prescribed steroids, we did not like the result when we took her off them. We have now decided that she is less of a pain in the A&se on them than off.

Next event is chauffeur at 15.30 SM to Pilates.

Nil Further.

Afternoon folks. Can't believe it was a sunny 16C in Kendal today. Pleasant drive up apart apart from two long stretches of 50mph in roadworks - very soporific. Checked in for the Mountain Festival and now ready to share the adventure! :)

10.30pm here.

Busy day but victorious. The plumbing contractor caved in after the BKK lawyer threatened him with extremely bad press if he didn't admit to faulty construction of our house plumbery. In this regard we are getting our plumbing completely redone for free with inspections after the job's done by the inspector in town - and another 5 year guarantee. We don't pay a single Baht including lawyer's fees, all floor inspections and any potential building repairs.

The inspector himself and a builder declared the top floors safe even though still at this point damp. He recommends another two days before we start charging up there to sleep, so more granny-flatting for a while. He'll be coming on Saturday evening to give either thumbs up or down. If thumbs down, all repair work will be paid by the plumbing contractor...heh heh!

Just dropped off Apsara at the airport for BKK an hour ago. She's back tomorrow night. Tomorrow I do me morning run, have brekky, drop me lad off at school, then knuckle down studying for me new employ next month.

It's now quick pre-bed moonshine time! 🥃

Come to sunny Blackpool!
Growing up in Southport..... it was said that if one could see Blackpool Tower, then it was going to rain !

Mentioned before, my first contact with aviation was watching a French pilot, named Giroux ( I kid you not ) give sightseeing flights of Blackpool Tower from Southport sands in a Fox Moth G-ACEJ. He charged 5 bob. I could never afford it at the time ! He would drive up to his hangar at the Northern, Hillside, end of the town with his little Scots Terrier dog, which he shovelled into the cabin whilst he flew the aircraft from the open cockpit behind it to his allotted landing area at the Ainsdale end of town. I think (?) he once got it wrong and landed in the sea, I seem to recall a Press photo of his passsengers wading ashore !
