Re: The really boring and totally pointless snippets thread IV
Sad news there Ibbie.
We used to share next door's puss. They go away to Florida for 6 weeks every year and
Jenny just used to move in lock stock and barrel. We were all devastated when she died.
Ooooerr. Bit of excitement while I was typing that. A wood pigeon flew in through our open
conservatory doors and couldn't find it's way out unassisted. Caught it and lobbed it out to see it
doing a full reheat race for the sky shedding feathers as it went. Seemed alright and uninjured
by it's little adventure.

Sad news Ibbie. Our fellow playmates bring us so much joy and then have to leave us so early.....
Re: The really boring and totally pointless snippets thread IV
I have my CNC router table to a stage where I can with some confidence demonstrate it.
900mm x 1800mm work surface, drag knife vinyl cutting, engraving (plastics, laminates, soft metal) , cutting wood product (MDF, plywood etc). Carving yet to be tested.

Sorry to hear your news Ibbie. We lost one of our GSDs to mouth cancer 30 years ago. Fortunately we had an excellent vet who was extremely supportive

Yes indeed, sorry Ibbie.
Town day and no travel pass required. Have to pay our accountants who are back at work, for the company annual return. Thieving b@stards. They just print off a load of papers which we sign and charge us a bomb.

Morning all
Thanks for your comments on Usher.
Usual weather. Presently 18c heading for 24c or higher one suspects.
Ex-A
My gestoria charges me €120 plus iva for completing and submitting, on line, our annual tax returns. Thats €3 per minute.

Ibbie, I used to do my own tax. Cost nothing
The Agencia Tributaria, a small local office, were amazingly helpful and 'on my side'. Kept telling me what I should not declare. Then decided to distance myself and went to a Gestoria. €60. Still do.

Morning with little good about it,
22 for 26 clear and blue.
VW has a puncture again, third in two years, there is no spare just a blow up device. So I need a tow truck to the tyre place (insurance)
Besides the timing chain which we are carrying, the Toyota now has a flashing oil LP light and traces of clutch slip.
How much is a 16 y o RHD Toyota worth in Spain ?
The fang fettler had to remove stump of tooth not enough remaining to crown.
Anybody got a gun ?

Now at tyre place, in addition to the ruined front the rear tyres are perished and need changing. 230€ I am having a bad time. Income tax too.
I don't know why this car picks up punctures 3 in two years is beyond a joke.

Bloody cold and wet outside. Top of about 13deg and continuous rain. So I turned up the heating and settled down for an afternoon of Youtube. Watched all 3 hours 50 mins of the RAF 100th year anniversary celebration.
Absolutely magic. All the Vets wearing Veterans badges, and a guy in the Parade with with my stripes and flashes no less. He must be a clever buggah. Didn't have guns like that in my time.
The video, it's here:

Re: The really boring and totally pointless snippets thread IV
This lock-down has finally got to me!! Took me life in me hands and let Mrs 4ma loose on me hair with the scissors. .
Sat in the garden whilst she done the deed and now watching the blackbirds gratefully picking up what she sheared off to use as nest lining.

Do blackbirds (and other birds) only collect materials for which they have an immediate use? - or do they see things that they consider useful and stockpile them?4mastacker wrote: ↑Tue May 26, 2020 2:23 pmblackbirds gratefully picking up what she sheared off to use as nest lining.
birds like blackbirds and song thrushes which raise several broods each year generally use a new nest each time, but they do save a bit of time and effort by dismantling the old nest and recycling some of the pieces for the new build.
Re: The really boring and totally pointless snippets thread IV
We have a load of dog fur out there for the birds to pick up and use should they wish. I've seen pictures of nests which have an awful lot of fur in them so it's worth doing it.

Waaaay!
Committed aviation today! Just a quick 90 mins on a self-check before, hopefully, a day's flying tomorrow with Sproglette Junior. She turns 13 in 2 weeks and it is part of her birthday present along with the Arianna Grande perfume and some computer gizmos she apparently can't live without like a new graphics card.
