Knew someone who volunteered in a food kitchen, he said they fed everybody but he gave up when he decided that the majority were there because it was free not because they were hungry

Off to have car MOT'd.If it passes it will be 11 years without anything being wrong.
One of the great joys of living on this island is that cars don't have to have an MOT as long as they never leave the island; they still need tax & insurance though. My £150 Skoda Octavia is only used for travelling to the shops and to the kirk on Sunday.

We have MoTs on this Island, but let's say the Inspections are..cursory.
"So, you know how to drive a car with no oil in the shock?"
"Yeah, go very slowly round corners; don't brake hard"
"OK, you're good"
That was from 3 years ago.

Evening all, overcast with a bit of liquid precipitation at the moment. Dog shows over the weekend, youngest got nothing the first day and reserve the second, so no points. The other one got Select both days, which worked out to three points each day and I learned that even coming second (which is what Select is a fancy name for), three or more points is considered a major, so that's a couple on successive days. Arcane rules of AKC means she needs three majors as part of her Grand Champion qualification so that's most of it done in a single weekend. Oldest and youngest dogs also went into heat this weekend too, just to make life more interesting (and bloody).

The instant service is worth every penny. I got mine in Durham a few years ago. In at 0840, and on the train on my way to Edinburgh with new passport in hand at 1400.

Traffic chaos in London this morning due to thrice-damned f*ckwits of protesters. Praise the Lord for the Underground. Got to passport office with an hour to spare so time for Pret a Manger...

Moved house last year. Could not find passports anywhere. Declared them lost, naturally they were found within a day or so. Good news, our card insurers paid for replacements. This year one daughter lost a house key. They paid up for 3 replacement keys.

Bargain.

Morning all,
Another cloudless day on the CdS.

Ear flush yesterday does not seem to have done much, still quite hard of hearing.
Back to Useless the Medico to try to get tested. Trouble with things like this is the slow onset.

Had the TV really loud last night and still missed a lot of dialogue.

He grows daily and is a little bugger. He has taken to shagging SM's leg, we feel he is a little young for this behaviour.

Punto is about to go for his walk and the ritual playfight is about to kick off.

Looking forward to hearing if your baggage makes the transfer in a one hour stopover.🤔

Good news and a touch of bad yesterday. A couple of weeks ago, had a suspect bit of skin excised. Biopsy says it was a melanoma but not spread elsewhere. However, to be on the safe side, have to have another 3mm around the current wound cut out. Apparently reduces risk of any recurrence in next 5 years from same site.

Lovely walk this morning along the verges next to rape fields and woodlands. Black Bitch now snoring whilst lying on my feet. Did notice what appears to be an increase in the local pheasant population which bodes well for the casserole this autumn.

Taking Sproglettes to cinema and Nando's this evening. Some Marvel or DC comics fillum.

Just back from the Toothwright, had a crown fitted.

The impression was scanned and the new crown was 3d printed!

It fitted perfectly, it also is the 1st crown I've had that didn't need the 'bite a bit of carbon paper and grind off the high bits routine'.
Just a test fitting and then stick it in with an adhesive.
