Morning folks.

Birds in the garden doing lots of twittering - didn't know they had mobiles. :|

Junior daughter reports that #2 grandson slept well last night after coming back from hospital - they want him back tomorrow: his face is turning a black and blue. I've spoken to him and he seems cheerful enough...a Paw Patrol Command Centre (ordered yesterday as a comfort present) has arrived and he's well chuffed. Hopefully no lasting consequences.

Going to sort out me bike seat - according to lots of videos, it's likely my bike isn't set up right rather than needing a change of saddle or me wearing pervy shorts. Would appear there is no such thing as a 'just-jump-on-and-go' bike that doesn't need adjustment. I altered the position of the saddle yesterday and that was a little less arse achey uncomfortable. Flag indicator has moved from Imperial Japanese Navy to Japanese National Flag.
Ignore a gel saddle at your peril. :-bd Even the best set up bikes will benefit as will your fundament. :-bd

G'day,

Pretty much as the other side 24 for a high of 26.

Had two chaps here strimming the 'intermediate' land which was more than a foot deep in weeds.
My 6500sqm of hillside is segregated into a formal garden, then intermediate land, then inaccessible jungle.
We try to keep the intermediate bit tidy, the chaps came in February and strimmed but we went into lockdown before they could return and weedkill.

For Mercury, and again for Gemini, they put stuff in the capsule for the talking monkeys to fiddle about with as there really wasn't anything otherwise for them to do.

The non-talking monkeys had already proven that there was nothing for the passengers to actually do.

Same-same the Tesla version. No need for a chauffeur.
Almost all the really interesting research and discovery to date has been done/made by unmanned probes and robotic vehicles. The Apollo missions were primarily an extension of the cold war and meant to shove one in the eye of Soviet technology. The Shuttle was also primarily a military vehicle. Pretty much all the good medical research had been done by the Russians before the ISS was operational.

I wonder how much really useful science has been undertaken in comparison to the cost of keeping the International Space Station orbiting with its crew of silly human beings growing stunted green beans, fiddling with crystal growth, farting, scratching their balls, pissing and excreting all that food, that cost such a fortune to deliver, into pristine space? A certain amount of exercise in futility herein I think.

That said, I think it is all wonderful... :)

Attached is a link to a wonderful old-geezer's bike website which tells you all you might want to know about pedal-power. Please don't heed the message in the middle of the text regarding the Goblin, he's too valuable a contributor to lose!

Regardless of Sheldon Brown's opinion I would still give the gel saddle a try, unless your own current setup was so out of kilter that it was the prime cause of your ongoing discomfort. After my 24 miles in the hills around here yesterday, saddle sore is something which no longer occurs since I went for 'gel'.

Morning folks, Yes indeed, but hope the hospital took photos. Maybe an idea to do so as well. When Mrs Ex-Ascot got bashed up in the robbery two months ago the hospital only made a report. 4M, good to hear that he is coping with it B-) Obviously from good stock!

Twice weekly clandestine trip to the safari camp bar this morning through the bush where the rozzers do not go and we bumped into the rozzers. Actually we can go walk about now but the camp is officially closed and all bars certainly closed but we do take our own hooch. Unmarked police LR. It was CID coming to see us and take a statement from a neighbour who apparently saw some of the loot hidden in the bush near to her hut. It was our case officer. No probs. Had a chat sans masks and closer than 2m. The investigation seems to be going well. I said sod all that, you guys are in the know, when can we buy pop again. He said Wednesday :YMPARTY: Invited them to the party.

Then, in my euphoric state, at the pub I was trying to calculate how much hooch we had on the go and went to calculator on the smart phone to work out 4x12 ^#(^

I had a girlfriend (a LOOOOOOng time ago) who used to practice the 'cello naked in her college room. I loved Saturday afternoons and evenings after a hard week's flying training.

Wodrick, I hope your animal friend feels better soon.

Ex-A once on a chemistry exam I did the chemistry part of the reaction correctly and I failed to complete the exercise for full points when I couldn't calculate n+2n.

Working away by the puppy enclosure and movement over by the window caught my eye. Looked more closely and there was a small bird over there. It seems to have found its way back out again, I opened the big patio door for it and there appears to be no trace now.

Over on another thread there's a discussion about how noisy the A400m is and someone has produced a report on the noise levels produced by C130, VC10 and A400M doing engine ground runs at Brize Norton.

This is extracted from that report:
5.2.5 The measurements identified during 'high power' EGR that: • All aircraft produce noise which is considered directive;
• In general, the C130 produces the higher noise levels toward of the front aircraft and lower levels towards the rear;
The VC10 is generally quieter than the C130;
• The A400M produces more noise than the C130 at almost all positions measured;
• The A400M is as noisy at the front as it is at its rear;
• The C130 produces a prominent tone at all positions at a frequency of 100 Hz;
• The A400M produces a prominent tone at most positions around the aircraft at 112 Hz. This tone is at its strongest when perpendicular to the aircraft and less so to the rear of the aircraft. This tone was also identified in the surrounding communities.
Who'd a thunk it?

In case anyone is wondering if the Queen of the Skies has been re-introduced into service, the report is dated August 2012.
It's always my fault - SWMBO

'Noise' should incorporate an annoyance level too.
A child on a 49cc toy moped at full throttle screeching up the hill at 12 mph is far more annoying than a Harley booming past at 3 times that speed, and you don't hear it for so long either.

Nice points about annoyance level Cape especially the kid. I have some bad experience about it.
