I guess you should leave the windows open. Be careful with the glass fragment. We don't want you to miss your chair

Great use of home standby and the fantastic weather. Dragged the pressure washer out and sorted the back yard. Big fella's now firing up The Big Green Egg. mmmm

Ahh Ribrash. The pictures on the bottle lables are different. Females for white wine, males for the red. The corks just have the generic crimes. :)
I have corks 1 to 18.To my disgust I've been told that cork 19 was not released in Europe as it was used in a competition in Oz and USA.I fail to see why.Never the less both the red and whites are super glugs especially when the supermarkets discount the price by 25% if you buy six. :YMPARTY:

I have given up chocolate and confectionary for Lent, rather a cop out as I don't particularly like either very much.
I have just eaten an immense Indian vegetable vindaloo accompanied by Becks and Amstel and am completely stuffed with a very high body temperature, now been informed that I have to eat half a large chocolate gateau incorporating cream and sauce, also a large chocolate Easter egg as well.

Proper Sunday planned for tomorrow, up early and long run up through Wiltshire on the bike, then relax with Adnams Broadside at the pub, followed by a lager afternoon, then steak and chips with Tesco high octane rouge.

Misty has given us a respite, turning her attentions from our furnishings to the garden wildlife, busy birdsnesting and stalking mice, here she is on guard duty

When you consider how long cats have been domesticated, it seems amazing that they retain their hunting instincts.

All our cats have been the same, turning their noses up at a saucer of juicy meet in gravy in favour of gnawing the innards of a rodent or sparrow, the one exception was our friend Jaffa who left us aged 21 (and a half) last year, he was quite happy to watch the world go round, never hunted or strayed, daytime telly and some whiskers were his desires, but Misty is a right little madam, gnashing her teeth at the birds and cavorting around the compost bins for little creatures.

Not at all. That's why they were domesticated. It's only in the last 100 years that they have been pets. Many still work, and are bred for that.

First pet was a kitten ~ whiskey. Mum was a ship's cat. The ship was due to be scraped after the war so my father brought mum home. Mum was several sizes larger than Whiskey, she hissed and retired under a cupboard never to 're emerge while she got used to her new home.

After a period of confinement she was let out. Like a scalded cat, she was through the door and headed for the docks. Never saw her again.

I don't recall what happened to Whiskey but we for a a Scottie next.

I thought cats either are natural born chasers or completely indifferent and the hunger wont change that.

Porky (RIP) the commie Cong cat I had in Nam was the size of a horse. Apart from hunting and dining on large rats and other rodents, he'd come home proudly bearing in his big mouth huge bloody birds, wild bunnies, small dogs(!), large lizards and small geckos. The last one he'd reserve for dessert.

"Hey you roundeye soft-ass! We Viet cats hunt for our dinner. Here...[plop]...eat this thing and be grateful I brung it to you!"

Still his fave was pork butts in gravy. He'd drop everything to have it. He didn't mind a life of hard socialism laced with some 'greedy capitalist' goodies! :))

Morning folks. Freezing but sunny. Preperations are starting big time for Paska (Easter) here next week. Breakfast beer in MY place. Now MY chair has gone I can't sit in it all day so decided to go walking every day. Today just an easy 4 km bimble then a beer in the platea.

Cats - we have had three here. They all just disappeared.

Went to a wedding last night on a wine estate. First time for a year that I've worn my suit (worn only 4 times) and was proud that I could still fit into it, but prouder by far that I had forgotten how to tie a tie

It came off when I sighted the first other male not wearing one of the abominable things.

Lots of JB noise. Up to that point it was a most enjoyable afternoon and evening.

Quite nice here, too. MtMM has taken up residence in one of the borders as the soil is nice and warm. I have a buggad foot, so will hobble to the bench at the back door and read until I have to hobble back in and put the leg of lamb in the oven. Got a nice pinotage to wash it down.

Morning all,
grey 17c, the rain which looked like it was coming and was guessed sort of turned left and went to top up the lake as it crossed the Granada/Malaga border.
Result no rain.
Rain from the East is most unusual, it's all because of the English High which is giving them good.

We are still cleaning Vomit, pee and poo from this morning's effort.

Looking at my expenses spreadsheet I could not work out where the 170€ difference was - the bastards have taken the road tax for both cars.
It is a Municipal Tax here not a central government tax.

*LimeyGal* sends her best wishes to all.

Happy Easter! A beautiful sunny day here too with more gardening to do before I go down to see parents and sort out theirs. Been on the go since I returned from Mr Fox's. Parents arrived two days later. Usual problems with wheelchair assistance for them. They were the last off the aircraft at LHR. How hard is it to organise such things?

My trip to Canada and back was not without incident after the Boeing 737 saga re-routing. Can't remember the last time I flew into Montreal - I think it was on a BOAC VC10. :D Flying back to the UK on a A330-300 my seat buddy asked the purser if the plane was a Boeing. 'Oh no sir. It's an old Airbus but don't worry it does have new engines.' =))

@Mr & Mrs Ex-A: electricity in the hamlet? Nooo. You'll be plagued with Froggy music. By the way, I am concerned about the alcohol you are spilling! [-X

Good to hear news of angels & limeygal . :-bd

Looks like the Ex A's are going to get some new neighbours, one of them will blend in at any rate.
