Morning all. Lovely day on the Lancashire Riviera - temperature climbing through 20C and very little (meteorological) wind. They'll all be out on the prom up the road in Blackholepool with some gut churning sights to be seen no doubt

Just planted out some tomato plant into larger pots.

Yesyerday I went on-line to my credit card supplier to get the latest statement (HOW MUCH?! ) and noticed that they still had my old mobile phone number as a contact, so I changed that and immediately (within a few seconds) got a text on both phones to confirm the change.
About 02:25 this morning I received, on the old phone which I still have as a backup, another text from them with exactly the same message . This did not go down well with SM who was convinced that, at that time, there must be a family crisis developing. Additionally, we had already been awoken at midnight as the cleaner had managed to switch on the second radio alarm which had defaulted to a midnight setting.

At 7am the new phone then went off at the end of the quiet hours period (23:00 to 07:00) with it's version of the repeated text.

I've now managed to find and set the quiet hours setting in the old phone.

Radio alarm's reset too.

Morning folks. Freezing cold and blowing a gale but bright. Swapped the hire car for our rent a wreck, same company. Burning smell, high RPM in idle, pax door handle has come off.

Got our Greek phone sim cards reinstalled.

Went to the other mountain village to say hello to everyone up there. More hugging and kissing.

Just waiting for the resturant to calm down so that we can go into the kitchen and speak to chef about today's scoffing plan. Not going home too cold to open up the house. Mrs Ex-Ascot will have a bash tomorrow morning.

Shopping at Waitrose. At checkout they sort purchases into (a) take home yourself, the free "Times" and contents of a lunchtime seafood chowder by Mrs OFSO (b) delivery, store in cold room, and (d) delivery, other items. Delivery arrives at house in two hours, no charge. French and Spanish friends can't believe it.

Just relaxing with a coffee and jaffa cakes, after a potter in the garden. Pleasantly warm (22 deg C), and a gentle stroll with the Flymo to teach those cheeky dandelions who's boss here. The feelgood factor of this activity was suddenly topped by the appearance of a Spitfire with "D-day" markings, batting along purposefully due South, at a height of about 1,000 ft above msl. Since my garden is almost 700 ft AOD, this made it a mere 300 ft overhead, so I got the full glorious sound of one of Rolls-Royce's best, and a brief but uplifting view of the arrow-straight overflight.

Could have been one of the 2-seaters from Biggin Hill, or from Headcorn, giving some enthusiast a thrilling backseat ride, of maybe just a re-positioning, but whatever, it made my day ...

Daft I know, but I felt a flashback over 75 years or so, to my 5 year old's reaction on seeing a Spit overhead. Yelling "It's alright mum, it's one of ours!" into the house.

Son and his young family have spent 8 hours in Bangkok airport with a tech A333.
They will probably miss their ongoing connection, but as it is the same airline they might reschedule the flight.
At present there are only 4 seats available on the 'next' ongoing flight, so they might be stuck for another 5 hours.

No sweat other than two tired children.

I have to disagree.They have the same comments on all the corks. Much to my disgust having collected the first 18 corks Ihave been told that the 19th cork is not in circulation in the UK.It was a promo thing in USA and OZ. Well pissed off.

They'll be working me tomorrow and Monday to make up the 2 days off I took earlier this month due to the rhinoceros virus I caught. I'll only have the 24th and 30th as day's off.

Yesterday was a schamozzle. Too long a story.

Bit cranky as I didn't sleep well. Just downed 2 cups of coffee and some toast to kick start my brain. My morning 'shine should perk me up a bit better.

Ric, funny you mention this picture. I thought that those selves were not to be used for a heavy items.

My sister has given me a set of bath curtains which she likes. They come with a condition of a monthly wash- I just did and I hope there will be no rain before they are dry enough to go back over the bath tub.

Another very sunny day in London, abt 8° warmer than north east Spain where rain is forecast for three days. Its the annual Boat Show in Empuriabrava, always at Easter, and whether early or late it always rains. I think the Almighty doesn't like boats. Probably because of that Noah chap and his Sunseeker. Morning folks from a cold but bright Amorgos. Can't go home for at least another 10 days. The brand new doors are stuck shut with the incredibly wet winter and unoccupied house.

The late spring has resulted in delayed flowers which are incredible. We have just walked down to the port along an ancient path carpeted in flowers (photo later).

Sitting in our seats down here two boiled eggs from their chickens, perfect, home made orange and apple jam, toast and beer. This family have been friends of ours for 25 years. Looks as if they will come and stay with us down south next year. That will be a culture shock for them. No NRs here.

This long cold wet winter has taken it's toll. Funeral yesterday another today.

Golly Capt we thought that this sim thing was supposed to be semi retirement.
