This is causing a little excitement locally.

It might even make the international press!

Good news dog story.
Sailor the border collie has returned home

She was staying with a relative whilst the owners were away, but jumped ship a week ago.
Hundreds of friends and neighbours were out looking for her.
The Highways people put out signs on the main highway, which she would need to cross if she was headed homeward.
Would your Highways people do this for one dog?

After a week, she made it home.

PEI is mad keen on dogs. There are no dogs in the rescue centre and never have been for longer than it takes to jab them; there is a waiting list a mile long of prospective adoptees.

Ah, The Seekers, who travelled to England on the emigrant ship 'Fairsky'.
As did I.
Though not on the same voyage.
This song of theirs was the lullaby played to get us kids to sleep in Australia

Except my little brother, who also needed Vaughan Williams' Fantasia on a Theme by Thomas Tallis.

and yes, he did later learn to play the violin. Since it put him to sleep but not me, I have heard it many more times than him ;)))

Coelacanths were thought to have become extinct in the Late Cretaceous, around 66 million years ago, but were rediscovered in 1938 off the coast of South Africa, says Wikipedia.

Yeh, but what do they taste like? Had Spanish Mackeral last night and that was quite yummy.

There’s an interesting section about Coelacanths in the Two Oceans Aquarium in CPT.
When all else fails, read the instructions.

I scrolled down to ‘Frequently bought together’ and decided I’d need those two extra items as well. =))

However, several recent studies have shown that coelacanth body shapes are much more diverse than previously thought.

Got stacks of ‘em here. Even got one at home. =))

Door bell just rang, answered. Two young girls (approx. 7 & 5) from up the drive standing there. Older one says "We've brought Myf back as we've finished playing now". Didn't know Myf was out playing.

Myf is a rescue dog I adopted five month ago from the pound. The kids only turn up occasionally, and I have never given thought to how Myf would relate to children. Just learned she likes playing with them. :)

I am a happy owner of this book (given as a present back in 2007) at Hooters. I can assure you, don't really need the wipes.

Alisoncc, glad kids are safe with the dog.

Just seen Dolly Parton being interviewed by Seth Meyers on CNN. My, what an amazing lady that is. Presence, brains, business sense, a great voice (she broke spontaneously into a few bars of "Jolene"), she told two stories that had the audience in hysterics, and at 73 she looks utterly fantastic. Wow.

I'd like to know what she really thought of Rotherham?

She is a fabulous lady, I'll second OFSO's words.

My favourite quote from her is : "Y'all must know it costs a lot of money to look as cheap as I do."

'Cos nothing grows in the shade !

TGG, use an ice pack, 10 minutes
I am going to take you advice immediately Pontius Navigator. The discomfort is wearing me down.
Thanks to those who gave advice. I used a combination of Defloniac (bad for your heart I know), an ice pack and was pain free within about 8 hours...

Able to dance tonight as well...

Seth said to DP "you look like a million dollars" to which she answered "well, Seth, that's about what it all cost.."
