Slasher, thank you for your trust. And I am glad you are rapidly recovering from the family troubles.

I was at the company yearly event, the beer was far from good, just drinkable. And I still don't understand why companies waste money on such events.

I'm on my second gen1 Kindle. MrsP swears by her iPad, but I just swear AT it if I'm trying to read by the pool/sea in bright sunlight.
I should have said Kindle Fire, however Mrs PN swears AT her IPad, I refuse to get involved.

BiL gave me a memory stick with ten thousand books. Then SiL gave me top 100 for every year from 1965. The first off the rigs, the second from the embassy in Kabul.

Oh easy, encourage team spirit, show's you care, a reward for job well done, shows what a good boss you are.

Provided you leave early and home truths flow, sexual assaults follow and you learn things you rather didn't.😀

Spent all-day yesterday in International civil service pensioners association conference. Same old problems, once you leave the Big Seven Government Organisations they don't give a sh*t about pensioners. No way to protest - former international civil servants are prohibited from using national and international courts - someone jokingly suggested a hunger strike. Didn't go down well. Can only hope none of us end up like the former employee of the OECD who as a pensioner ended up incontinent and paralysed fatally attacked by rats in her bed in Bezier at the end of last year.

Morning all,
Broken above and hazy horizontally.
I have a guess of 30km/hr + winds - it is a flat calm. The Spanish met are not too good at wind prediction.

Paco has just brought four donkeys down to live opposite.

Nice to see a return of updates from EGNX

Nil at present.

Big toe less hurty this morning and the swelling has gone down a bit. Can't go to me canal as I can't get me wellies/safety boots on. :(

Nigella on the telly at the mo - at least that's something to cheer up the day.

Bloody jungle bunny noise from the other side of the lagoon today, f...ing bastards.

We retreated from the pool to the veranda due to a thunderstorm inbound but think that it has missed us. Can't be bothered to move back. It involves moving tables, chairs, power lead, computer and beer glass. some rain last night though.

Yes indeed Capt. Standing there it was a puzzle where the stomach started. It all just seemed like continuous. I could ask her for a nude photo and we could analyse it. :ymsick:

RiS you have no idea what you would find down there. Half her lunch as suggested is a possibility or even a couple of her ex boyfriends. Well take a beer and have a party with them. You will require full diving kit and air for at least 2 hours.

Congrats Octo. Been 'through it. Hope it cost you less than it did me. Mind you she fell out with so many lawyers in the end it was a last minute one and he didn't cost in my Royal Air Force gratuity. Bought the house off her with that.

Getting a bit stormy here. Hope we get some rain. Sent Mrs Ex-Ascot to the safari outside bathroom for a bath before it gets bad. One can't have waves on the bath water. The rubber duck gets sea sick.

Oh dear, it has just started to rain and a beer in the bath was ordered. Guess I am going to get wet on the delivery service.

Edit, very close call just made it back before the heavy rain. 'er is in the bath in the rain but at least with a beer.

Isn't it funny the way ducks like rain. We have dwarf ducks in front of the house and they are quacking away.

Right. Organised. So I thought.

3 plates laid out; flour, beaten egg, panko crumbs, 2 dinner plates warming. Oven on, & oven chips cooking. Water simmering for samphire. All that's needed now is to coat and fry the two nice haddock fillets I bought for tonight's tea. Oh no, wait a minute; apparently, what I REALLY need is dottir#2 on the 'phone asking MrsP to come and help her settle granddottir. "Bye". Fcuk.

Consider this a virtual posting to "What's for tea, Ma" and "Rant of the Day V2". I'm off to open a beer.

Magnus,

I like to vote for the best combination of two threads. Maybe the next challenge is to go for a post that covers four threads.

In late afternoon my toothache got worst. Fortunately I have an appointment with my dentist on Wednesday and a decent supply of painkillers.

PN a worrying but nicely said explanation about Company annual events.

Octo congratulations on your new status. I hope the news from home front are good too.

Caco nice to see that a new generation of ops-normalers is being recruited.

This morning I bought 6 boxes of illy espresso capsules and there were for espresso caps to go along.

Just for you Mme Octo.

I had thought about a clip that included John Inman but that might have sent the wrong message.

Evening all, overcast and windy here, with occasional scattered showers. Saw some nice rainbows earlier.

First dog show of the year for us today, bedding in to the new routine since one of the dogs made champion at the end of last year, so the running order for us has changed. She didn't get anything but our younger dog did, she now has a complete set of 'good' ribbons accumulated over the past twelve months. Same again tomorrow, see if either of them can do any better. It's all down to the subjective opinion of the judge on the day, and whether your dog has turned up mentally or not so not winning today doesn't mean we can't beat the same set of dogs tomorrow.

Morning. 1130 o'clock here. Today is betterer than yesterday on the house Kharma scale. Up a full percentage point.

Congrats to all marriages divorces etc. Glad I'm hitched to the right woman.

Nothing much today. Just relaxing and 'shining for a change. :)

Morning folks. We got some rain yesterday evening but now clear just broken cloud. No rain forecast for the foreseeable future which is a worry.

F...ing jungle bunny noise from across the lagoon again. Inconsiderate black b@stards. It is what they call a 'ploughing field' in other words a large allotment. I think that they come from town at weekends to work on it and piss me off. We also have building noise going on up river where our staff burnt down their ex-employer's house. A really peaceful Sunday here. Think I may start the genny to drown it all out.

We are going to look like bananas by the end of the weekend. Over a hundred went ripe all at the same time. Given away over eighty still got twenty to eat though.
