What words have had diverse meaning for you as you grew older?
What I was looking for was different personal associations that evolved through your life.
For example, a particularly objectionable child at infant school had the same christian name as the girl that I married (many years later).
My interpretation of that name had to be changed.

In my first example, the word Woodbine started out as an inert name of a street, changed to a cheap cigarette and then morphed into an attractive woodland plant which is often domesticated. The true meaning never changed, just my perception of it,

Do not denigrate Woodbines. Used to buy them as onesies on the way to school. Mind you our off-licence used to sell us bottles of very alcoholic cider when we were still kids. Mid '50's. Personally preferred Park Drive.

Odd. Also tried to comment on OFSO's post and got a 403 error.

There's something embedded in his post causing the 403 error. Haven't woken up enough to see what as yet. Sometimes if a control key is inadvertently held down the system interprets it as an attempt to hack the system and disallows it.

Just had a guy over to quote on getting an excavator in to remove tree stumps and mounds of Earth...and putting up a new 'colorbond fence', don't expect it to be a cheap exercise... :(

Morning all.

It's 27c already. Glad I've done the Ed walk and got home. High temp is said to be 32c but will probably be well over that.

Sausage and bacon butty time.

Morning all,
Same as, it's showing 32 at present from an overnight low of 27.
It feels very warm in the sun.
We have a lad here this morning to move some plants prior to fencing work next week, we are having a dog pen.
about 1000 sqm.
just so we don't have the ridiculous 3½ hour runaways.

Nothing taken from my account overnight - there is time.

What on earth can be embedded in my post. Posts are themselves normally embedded in other things, such as earth or concrete.

Only happens if you use the " function. If you copy and paste it shows ok.

That must be one of the few posts that conform to the title of this thread.

Au contraire - it's always interesting to know that some asset of aviation is functioning.

In the sense that actually going to work counts as functioning? 😀

I used to go to work but did not necessarily function.

You are welcome. Let me know if /what works. Almost a year to the day I was involved with cutting a pine but I let it high enough as not to be a problem.

Afternoon folks. Thursday, town day. Not too bad. Straight run in with nothing trying to kill us. Mrs Ex-Ascot managed to get into the Orange shop ahead of a queue and get a new sim card to replace the stolen one. Then she lost enthusiasm to buy a new phone so is using an old one. Solar guy came whilst we were out and fitted new 'firm' ware again on the advice of the manufactures. Still not working. Now he wants to take the battery away but has to find a replacement. Told him loads of spares in the bush with safari camps closed.

There is rumour of a petrol shortage. Huge queues at petrol stations. Didn't bother we have some stored and only do 100 kms a week.

Just thinking this morning that it is like a science fiction film in town with everyone going around in face masks. Compulsory in public here.

Good morning one and all.
Overcast, breezy and rain forecast. 12C.

But do not despair for today is FRIDAY

Hoorah and hoozah.
