80 mpg!!!!!!! My Jag did 16. Full tank of petrol for home to LGW and back - 200 miles.

Overcast no rain.

Just a polite reminder that Today is FRIDAY

Off to the Ford dealer this morning in response to a Recall. Software fix for something to do with the brakes.
Didn't need software fixes when it was just a lever, cables and callipers.

Today is one of darkness all around. Looking out of the window suggests it's misty at present.
A mixed day of rain, cloud and a bit of sun forecast. +5C currently with a high of 6C to come.

Years ago when I had a German registered 200D and a house in France, I used to fill the tank with heating oil at 22 cents a litre. Car exhaust stank abominably and used to get a greasy grey deposit over the rear of the car. More trouble than it was worth.

Today is FRIDAY
By crikey it is!

4c again for early walkies. Sat outside at local last night but had four layers of clothing keeping the chill out.

Off into town this morning to get copy of passport confirmed as that, with exact wording that the pension trustees in Guernsey are now requiring to comply with island regulations for such confirmations.

A local fuel station every Monday offers Special gas (petrol) for the price or Regular. I am taking up the offer for several weeks now to the point I go straight to the Special pump while others still buy regular fuel. I do it because available otherwise I use the cheapest national brand I can find.

Blue skies up here on the Frontier, sun just rising. Mme OFSO has her British TV restored so she can snore in front of her favourite programs all evening.

Morning all,
Clear, warmer than of late, 14c.

When one was employed one of my work chums religiously carried out water checks, as required.
This was waste fuel and he drained into two 5 gallon jerry cans, took them home and topped his domestic heating oil tank.
A steel tank.
After a few years this rotted through and he had 400 gallons of Jet A1 to dispose of.
Undaunted the replacement tank was plastic.

Nothing planned except a campo walk later to try to burn off some energy from Henry.

Once went to my local Shell station. They had made set the pump price by about 40% - lot! Naturally, being honest, I told them.

Just seen the Minister for Women on Breakfast TV. Why isn't there a Minister for Men?

Steam bike ? Aged 16 I added a 25cc two stroke engine to my school bike ( Cyclemaster ? ) but I had to register it as a motor bike, attach number plates fore and aft and take a motor bike driving licence test,
When I brought my 50cc Mobylette from France to UK in 1958, it also changed its designation from a bicycle to a motor bike!

Why isn't there a Minister for Men?
or a Minister for white Men even.

Ian, that would be worth a few quid today, I see motorbikes like this restored and running for sale in bike auctions and dealers, might be rather risky riding it on todays roads, even my Royal Enfield has ABS.

Still have toothache, I am visiting Olga for an extraction next week, the plan is that she intends to remove teeth until it stops hurting, her shot putting practices means that she can extract the most difficult of teeth in seconds.

Retired Sky God, my watch is a modest Tissot, do not have a wallet as I do not carry cash and TS admits that she has small ones. And she admits that she was impressed with motor when we first met.

Eventually and incredibly got it through the normal post. 8 months after they received it. Serviceable but broken strap. Lawyer down there paid to sue them offered me my money back. It wasn't much so told him to take what ever he wants and give the rest to an animal charity or SAAFA.

Got a bit of drizzle earlier. Not much help to the cause.

There must be thousands of them in France still. They made millions of them.

Yup 14 million!
