Admin said it could take up to 24h Cape. That's a long time in both politics and computer stuff. Here's hoping...

Quarter past midnight here. Better toddle off to the cot. (-|

Did I get something wrong? That's 01:00Z on Sunday the 20th. Every expectation of being back up by 03:00Z, also on Sunday the 20th. Generally early Sunday mornings are the quietest times here.

Alison, being the consummate computer professional you are, I have no doubt that the system will be available tomorrow for the daily Cacophonix ops-normal fix. Many thanks again for the fun and fettling this place.

It was too quiet - a power cut for about an hour did take place.

UTC man! UTC!

It would've been the logical CUT if it wasn't for the bloody French in 1967. :-L
The official abbreviation for Coordinated Universal Time is UTC. This abbreviation arose from a desire by the International Telecommunication Union and the International Astronomical Union to use the same abbreviation in all languages. English speakers originally proposed CUT (for "coordinated universal time"), while French speakers proposed TUC (for "temps universel coordonné"). The compromise that emerged was UTC,

.......alway used the #3 bus to get from Marriot LAX into Santa Monica.
Yes, I used to use it from the crew pub in Marina del Rey to the King's Head, now use it get from LAX to our local apt. Still only 50c for seniors, but it stops in S.M. now, no longer going on to Westwood, and UCLA. We have to change - and spend another 50c !

Apologies for not making it clear: I stay at home and the electricity - the power supply failed. For about an hour (50 minutes), I had an IKEA candle and a torch/flash light to light the the place.
I was in bed when the Event took place, and I am happy to report ops normal

Did you ever go around the corner ExSp33d to Aunt Kizzy's Back Porch for some "soul food"? Their chicken fried steak with mash spud and black eyed peas was excellent. And their lemonade was REAL lemonade, served in what looked to me like a large Vegemite jar.

The nearby Soup Plantation just South of the pub wasn't a bad joint either.

Morning folks.

It did rain last night and whilst dawn has brought a clear sky, it's cold and rain showers forecast.

Most excellent Chinese food as usual at the Water Margin in Benalmadena last night.

Flights and anciliary modes of transport booked for Mrs IB and I to go funeraleering in Margate at end of month.
Our return flight is on one of the orange mob's new a321s with max pax squished on board in 40 rows.
