Take a look at the bloke on the extreme left in the blue top. That's the site supervisor - good bloke - he got his wife to trim his hair the night before. He did have a fairly full head of hair. He had wanted a No3 cut and it was going well until his missus forgot to put the right shears on the trimmer - in fact she didn't put any shears on the trimmer and gave him an unintentional reverse Mohican, hence the rest of his head had to match the furrow she had ploughed through his curly mop! =)) =)) =))
It's always my fault - SWMBO

What's with the HiVis jacket under the HiVis LSJ?
Does he wear HiVis underpants also?
..and inflatable socks?
I should have thought something as dangerous as a canal required Batbelts for easy access to Shark-repellent Spray!
Are all their shoes painted dayglo orange on the bottom in case they are stranded inverted on an ice floe? It's only 3 months to winter, you know.

Christ on a bike, I wore less than that singlehanding the Atlantic.

Ex-Ascot - sorry to hear about the marauders, nasty thing to happen.

4mastacker - good to see yer canal being inaugurated.

The Full Moon is happening at the moment, some poetry from 23 Railway Cuttings:

Oh wondrous moon who shines its beam,
across the pine trees of East Cheam,
I'm very pleased to see your light,
coming out tomorrow night?
"And to think that it's the same dear old Moon..."

Raining up here this morning. Unforecast. Watching TV news, scenes of total devastation down the coast of Murcia and Valencia. Thousands homeless and at least five dead.

He is more serious than me on saving money. He looks good though. Congratulations on completing the project. Windy here and stay my thoughts are for those exposed to rain and wind around the Med.

Blue skies now. Every hour, something different. Never know what to put on when leaving the house...

Morning folks. Turns out that 4 guys were involved in the robbery. Coppers couldn't get prints. Two were outside on watch and two went inside. I was sitting just 10 m from the front door but around a corner. The most worrying thing about all this is that we have been under surveillance. They knew our daily schedule. Also weekly, Thursday bank day, back at lunchtime. We are in the middle of nowhere. They must have been disguised as hippos.

Anyway in and out in minutes, no devastation like the last time. Grab and run. 4M the Sgt asked us to check booze supply. We do not stock much but it was all there. On our first robbery they took a box of wine and drank it all in the bush leaving the empty box. They must have been as sick as dogs.

Speaking of which we have been told to get dogs and fit CCTV.
'Yes, Madam, I am drunk, but in the morning I shall be sober and you will still be ugly.' Sir Winston Churchill.

Morning all,
Heavy rain overnight, not, I suspect, in the volumes further up the coast but it put more than an inch on the pond, whose level I dropped yesterday.
It's gone murky again too.
Lots of showers on the radar so not over yet.

If allowed going to make a batch of Tomato Jam today.
I have the raw materials and as we are booked to eat out tonight the dishwasher will be free to do the cauldron.

What news from the dark continent ? both typing together.

Sounds like you need a reverse forecast. As the weather guesser is right 50% of the time . . .

You can also improve upon that by forecasting the current weather 😀

Morning everyone from PremierInn Warrington, on the way to Anfield with JuniorWoody. I’ve had to turn down tickets for the first three days of the Test Match at the Oval, due to not being asked until the day before and after I’ve arranged other events. However if it goes on until Monday :o)
When all else fails, read the instructions.

Morning from a wet Costa.
Rain started at about 01.30 and became a torrent circa 03.00 with mucho lightening but only low thunder rumbling.

Center of Alhurin el Grande was a river with the water carrying cars and vans along.

Now clearing and sun trying to get out.
However if it goes on until Monday
=))

Sproglettes both playing footy this morning and then it's off to Birmingham to see Sproglette Junior's idol, Ariana Grande. It occurs to me that I have driven through and around Birmingham but never 'visited' as such.

Re Capt ExA's woes. Personally, I would add a 12 guage and a box of 00 to the suggested security package.

Useless units

I see the paper report on the heavy rain in Spain quotes a record 169 litres per square metre. I suppose one way of thinking is 3 tanks of petrol all dumped in a one metre square tank.

That is the same as 169mm of rain on a linear rain gauge.
