G'day wherever,
I only have 12˚c but a guess of 20˚c - no chance.
The remainder is the same as the other side of the bay.

Henry still smells after last night's roll, 'tis impossible to remove, god his collar was a mess.

I gave up on the pond after the storms in Jan and Feb now it's time to start with recovery.
I expect this to take a couple of weeks, won't be making a career out of it.

Life is SNAFU... Mist sitting just above the back fence, and Sibelius booms out as an incentive to one's better half to pedal faster on her exercise bike. I suppose it could be worse, she could use gym beat muzak to drive her pins, like pistons to greater efforts. We are all going somewhere fast, and yet nowhere at all.

EA01, Sibelius is one of my favourite composers. I have never been to Finland, but I suspect he sums up that place very well, based upon the Finns that I have known!

Would you argue with this bloke?

Love Finland. I've been there a few times. Great sense of humour. Very very dry. They don't mind a fight either, even the Russians are wary of getting into a stoush with them.

I, TGG, oddly enough, from a place as far removed from Finland as you'd care to imagine have been there a few times....and Love it!, Helsinki is a fabulous city....

One of my favourite things to do in Helsinki..

https://www.allasseapool.fi/en/

And another ...

https://www.finlandiacaviar.fi/

Mrs Fliegs and I found FINNAIR to be a fabulous way to Northern Europe / Nordic / Baltic / Scandi areas.....OK, so we may have to codeshare on QF to SIN or HKG or BKG, not ideal, but acceptable...then on the 'Reindeer Route' to HEL.!

A most memorable time was had a few Christmas ago, where after we spent Christmas in CPH, we went up into the Artic Circle to Kittla and on to Levi in the arctic circle of Finnish Lapland....wow, something else for someone from the warm sub tropical climes of SEQ!

I am a huge fan of both Denmark & Finland, they do a lot of stuff far far better than Australia, and unlike Australia, they look after their own...

One of the Finns I knew, an ex-Finnish paratrooper, was as tough as nails and used to laugh at the Swedish who, he said, had a regulation that army exercises should be paused when the temperature dropped below minus 40 degrees Celsius. He used to say "Finns only get going when temperature drops below minus 40!" Judging by the drubbing they gave the Soviets in the Second World War, I don't doubt that he was right!

As for the sense of humour, all three Finns I knew (I know, not a big sample) all had that dry sense of humour you describe so well. This bloke always put a smile on my dial too...

My Dad built an investment house not far from here in the very late 70s early 80s, the first tenant was a Finnish chap called 'Taano'.......the Finns were rather prevalent for a time around these parts, but never formed a club like the Italians & Greeks did...

Visited Helsinki off a cruise ship but avoided the organise tours. Came across a cafe in the middle of a boulevard, inside was a library. We had coffee outside. There was a performer with acrobatic cats.

You can't stop there! What kinds of gymnastic tricks, stunts etc. did the cats perform? =))

Tight bar, rolled around it, standing on two legs, front or back. Really doing tricks you would expect of a monkey. It was 15 years ago

Had lunch with an old gym friend 'Tracie' last Sunday, she is a Kiwi....I said to her look at all these ex pat NZ people here with 'Silverferns' & ' Kiwis & NZ art work on their car windows, I asked her what could I expect if I turned up in Auckland with a 'Kangaroo' sticker on my cars rear window,... the same as Kiwis do here....she just laughed and said expect a house brick through your window, and then for the car to be set alight.!

How lovely, how accommodating & how I do not care to welcome racists...

When foreigners 'Take the Piss', we stand behind those who are being abused, we support Fair & Freedom. But when we are abused, and openly admitted to being abused......no one stands by us,...just move here and abuse us...

So yeah, maybe the far right pluck a heart string?...Get your country back before its too late....?

Note to self... no more Kiwi kidding... :-? :-ss =))

More Sibelius might rectify the situation...

There was an interesting story to the first performance of Sibelius's one and only Concerto...

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Violin_Co ... (Sibelius)

Better account here...

NB EA01 -
The southern hemisphere premiere, only the third public performance, was given on 28 November 2015, by Maxim Vengerov with the Queensland Symphony Orchestra under Nicholas Carter.
