Trouble with supplier Yousef today. The 78yo raghead moonshiner announced he was discontinuing his popular Southern Comfort line to concentrate on his wine manufacturing which brings him in the most bucks.

There's a meeting planned by us (his SC customers) later this week with him to find a solution to this totally appalling crisis, but if he decides to maintain his SC production we may have to reluctantly accept up to a 50% lncrease in bottle prices as well as less overall batches produced per month. Rather depressing news all around.

Most statins have side effects.
Atorvastatin:-
Lipitor (atorvastatin) is a statin used for the treatment of elevated total cholesterol, LDL, triglycerides, and to elevate HDL cholesterol. Side effects of Lipitor include:

constipation,
diarrhea,
nausea,
fatigue,
gas,
heartburn,
headache, and
mild muscle pain.
Contact your doctor if you experience serious side effects of Lipitor including:

muscle wasting and muscle breakdown (rhabdomyolysis),
confusion or memory problems,
fever,
dark urine,
increased thirst or hunger,
drowsiness,
loss of appetite, or
yellowing of the skin or eyes (jaundice).

I am on Rosuvastatin :-

Side effects of Crestor include

headache,
depression,
muscle aches or pains,
joint pain,
sleep problems (insomnia or nightmares),
constipation,
nausea,
stomach pain,
indigestion, or
diarrhea.

Wonder if that is why I can't sleep? All seem to have some side effects.

Oh btw just over 3 months left. 65 next month but last day here is October 31st.

Off statins altogether. Quack put me on Amitriptyline for neuropathic pain and cramps have vanished apart from an odd non-severe one in the side of my calf which I didn't previously get. Not complaining; it's better than jumping out of bed and dancing around the room shouting oyabugga, oyabugga.

Total hysterics here. I am sitting peacefully on a sofa and suddenly hear shrieking and there is the missus with her hands covering her hair.

You'd have thought it was a swarm of Rodriguez fruit bats, which have a wingspan of up to a metre, but no, just a couple of tiny little bats with maybe 6" wingspan fluttering around. After she'd scared them, one made itself comfortable on the curtain, where it is sitting watching me. It's about an inch long. They eat flies and mosquitoes and are lovely little animals.

I had several side effects to both Simvastatin and Atorvastatin but the worst, on both of them, was itching limbs particularly my legs. In my sleep I would scratch until I bled.
A marked reluctance here to prescribe anything else so I don't take statins anymore. My LDL went up 0.5. just on the high side of normal.

Morning folks. Clear skies jolly cold, OAT 10 Inside 15 pool 18. No, one is not going to sit in the pool to warm up. Staff have arrived looking like Eskimos. They are promising us 22 degs later. 23 tomorrow and a sweltering 24 on Friday. Wow.

Slasher, I thought many folk in the sandpit made their own hooch.

We are pretty sure we know which pack this is just up the road from us: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article ... scape.html If they are the ones we think, they are part of a research programme. At least one is collared. This lot surrounded our motor once. We had been trying to find wild dogs for years and they just popped out of the bush, no tracking required. Since then we have had loads of sighting including by the house.

This one was with a smaller pack further up north in the middle of the delta.

This long dry spell is beginning to bite. We have received an email from the Council warning that we are in an area of at least Moderate Water Scarcity (second highest warning state). The spring which we get our water from is holding up at present but in the north of Aberdeenshire some water warnings are at the highest scarcity level. There are more than 7500 private supplies in the county.

If our supply goes dry then as we are 'elderly' we have priority to have free bottled water delivered by the Council. Quite surprised it will be free!

First a hosepipe ban in Manchester, now water shortage in Jockistan, has anyone blamed Brexit yet!

At least CPT is recovering from the drought at the moment.

Morning all. Missed the early morning garden shift because I overslept. IF back with a vengeance for most of the night. Had a respite from the chest ache but it's back now. A couple of the splodges have disappeared. :-bd

I will not be at a committee meeting this afternoon although I'd already checked it out for any vulnerable folk et al. The thought of sitting in a small, south facing room for two hours prompted the decision.

Welcome back limeygal! :-h How does your garden grow?

Changed my ISP from BT to SSE on 16 July. Telephone switched seamlessly but internet switched off at a few minutes after 8am and only restored just now (Wed 25 Jul). Well worth the hassle though, BT charged £52 per month for phone & broadband, SSE charge £22 per month for the same package AND frozen for 3 years as I already use SSE for electricity supply. Good download speed too, almost 7 Mbps.

Impressed with our new distributor/publisher. They had us back on Amazon this morning before I had even signed the contract. Been trying to contact the printers of our second book but can't find an e-mail address. Need a reprint and hope he has the copy cos they can't find it on our dead publisher's computer. I have a low res copy but this may not be good enough.

Been at the desk since 05.00 apart from a session on the exercise machine. 'ad enough. Cold beer in the hazy sun time. Just looked at the forecast for next week. Mid 30s :-bd May be able to put the winter clothing away.

It won't be free, the taxpayers or ratepayers will foot the bill.

Mornin' Still hot and humid :(

TB-garden is looking great. Just planted some Limelight hydrangeas. Huge blooms on them. Stuck my shovel through an irrigation line last week. Had to hand water until yesterday when the sprinkler chappie came to fix it. Silly moi!

OM-great news about Jaffa :-bd He's not ready to give up the good life just yet. He seems to eat better than most humans

Have to start fasting in 20 minutes in readiness for my dental surgery this pm. Just partaken of a bracing bowl of raisin bran. I know how to live it up.

Also on statins. No adverse effects that I can tell. Been on them for 9 years now.

Notice that there is an influx of peeps to this site. Must be refugees from TOP. I popped in a couple of days ago for a look see. Not a lot going on. I see Ex-A is up to his old tricks!! It took them a few days to rumble him! "Squiffy Pussy" gave him away. I am surprised it took Rob the Knob so long to see it :)
