Venezuelan Navy has a whoopsy.
Who will ever know the true story here. It is true that Trump is seeking a major distraction, up to the point of an undeclared war in South America, from his travails at home, so this may not be what it appears at all. The Venezuelan dictator is as big a bastard as Trump but one with a much smaller and more inept navy.

Wouldn't be the first time this kind of crap has been promulgated...

Gulf of Tonkin Guff...

Maybe the Venezuelan navy wants to imitate the 2017 history of the US Navy.

Morning folks. Wish everyone wold stop talking about booze. Down to about 1 ltr of red and one of white. Conscious of taking very little exercise recently. 'er with buggered knee and me with buggered back we just sit on the veranda or by the pool all day. Going to walk to the safari camp this morning only 2 km but it is something. Main mission is to see if we can illegally buy their bar stock which they will not need for the next four weeks at least. Probably more as their company have stopped taking bookings. Being an overlander company they have to cross many borders. Even if we lift restrictions here I am sure we will keep our borders closed. No change from the initial 4 cases which includes one death (70 yr old lady). Two in from USA one in from Taiwan the one who died in from S.A. All Bots Citizens.

Bit brighter today. Blazing sunshine forecast tomorrow and Monday. We have had a bit of rain recently so can't complain.

Morning folks.

Quite a bit of cloud about and was just 10c when I went out with Ed. High of 18c suggested but with a few shower to break the day up.

One of us will have to go out as the plank at the local farmacia didn't have one of Mrs IB's meds in yesterday.

Morning folks. Very Sunny and warm. The Red Kite is back, circling just above the houses. He/she is a daily visitor now so he/she must have found a useful food source. A beautiful creature.

4ma, not seen ours recently. May be less road kill. While we see lots of RK i t is possible that injured animals die clear of the road.

Have procured Pink Gin, Campari and the "Times" at Waitrose. Only two of these are vital to civilised life, but the newspaper was free. Lots of people out but dodging each other pavement-wise....

Saw a 'kite' in the far distance in Wales in 1972 then when we went to East Germany in 1990, as we crossed 'No Man's Land' along a country lane that had seen no traffic for 40 years (it had been closed with a large earth bank, very recently bulldozed away) there were dozens of kites wheeling overhead.

Now, red kites have been reintroduced to our region - though they're not a common sight in my immediate area - fifteen miles away where they were released they are more prolific.

Red Kites were reintroduced first in an area of Buckinghamshire, close to the M40 at Stokenchurch, near the cutting shown on the Vicar of Dibley credits.

I've been gifted a litre bottle of raw (undiluted, straight from the wood, about 75% proof) whisky of a provenance which I am not inclined to question. Rocket fuel.

I don't know whether to dilute and drink it, or to use it to make hand sanitiser gel.

Right, you can all talk about booze again.

Walked to the safari camp along the lagoon, 2 kms felt like 4 through deep sand and waist high plants. Back hurt like hell when we got there. Returning we decided to go along the track we drive along. No better, my back slowed me down to about 1 km an hour. Absolute agony.

We arrived at the camp bearing gifts of fresh (picked 30 mins previous) oranges and lemons. Their one year old was screaming out for more of our oranges once he had tasted them. Thought it may smooth out negotiations to buy some of their bar stock. A complete waste of oranges and lemons. They said take the lot. Folk know we have this stock and we can't sell it and we could be robbed. Gave us 40% discount and said don't pay us until we need to restock as we do not want the money on the property. We will take the motor tomorrow and pick most of it up. Not interested in some things but if we are careful it could take us through the prohibition of four weeks.

A peregrine falcon has recently appeared in my back yard. Seen in neighbor's pine tree and using my beheaded palm tree trunk as a perch.
Haven't been able to get a decent picture yet.
Must get out to resupply wine stock. Being home all the time means drastic increase in consumption rate. 5L boxes; quantity over quality at these rates.

G'day,
Been cold and grey all day, just a poky little shower this afternoon - not measurable.

We didn't have a fire last night and it was cold without. Just about to get one going,
Have to hit the hard disc for TV tonight, what a load of crap on UK TV.

First beer of the week, it is a Ringwood Brewery Razor Back, 3.6% ABV, very tasty, and I have a bottle of Marstons Pedigree lined up.
Home made lamb curry with trimmings, tomorrow is Aberdeen Angus steaks with Tesco Revered Red and salad.
Beautiful day, I plan a couple of hours at the allotment in the morning, maybe plant some spuds, maybe a chat at yelling distance with other allotmenteers, the village is very quiet, no one even in their gardens which is a bit strange.
what a load of crap on UK TV.
There is, watching old Morse repeats and the odd half reasonable drama. Mainly reading, just starting Vol 1 of The War in the West by James Holland, Vol 2 lined up.

Some posh double-wide narrow boats moored there.
How is such a thing possible?

As anyone who has visited a house of ill repute will tell you, there's narrow and then there's narrow. Or so I've heard. Two gauges of narrow boat. And a mysterious C Category.
