I'm surprised Squiffy Pussy III has not been painted in standard jungle camo brown and green. A 30' floatation-assisted ramming spike just below the surface on the front (or "bow" as purists would have it) could add to the fun on late-night excursions at the weekend.

Cool here, pleasant. Our cleaner's young daughter did a tandem dive yesterday. A good person, very hard-working, has two jobs. Can sail a 60' cat, ride horses (and clean out stables), run an office, manage a hotel, catch Covid and mountain-bike 50kms two weeks later. When one hears of her latest exploit ones thoughts are always "what next?! "
Is she married, OFSO? =))

Was having a quiet day at me canal's depot when a fast-ball was served. It would appear that I have been selected from a cast of.....one..... to do an interview with a BBC reporter who wants to talk to one of the restorers. Allegedly the BBC person asked for me as I had done the interview at the previous official opening of Lock 15. I've got a face for radio so I was a shoe-in for the job. Pray for me tomorrow.

Tango 15. 21, with her first boyfriend. My opinion is she works and plays so darn hard, men came way down the list. Pretty girl, tho.

Good luck, not that you need it I am sure! When (and where) should we be able to seek out the interview on the Beeb? ;)))

Media interviews can be good fun. I did a few for the local BBC station a few years back.

I assume that the hounds pass on interview requests to you as their agent? ;)))

The opening is tomorrow morning and there's supposed to live broadcasts from the site on possibly BBC East Midlands Today or BBC Radio Lincolnshire/Leicester/Nottingham.

I'll be the one wearing a hi-vis vest over a green polo shirt. ;)))

My limited experience of local radio was quite some time ago when it was almost indistinguishable from Radio Active

Back then I'd never even considered showing or breeding dogs. This was all about home education, a subject back in the news at the moment, but one from which I am now more distanced, being elsewhere and also with offspring now too old to be caught up in it.

I was working at Silverstone over the weekend at a Classic Car Show. Lots of all the sort of stuff you'd expect, but what surprised me was the number of De Loreans which turned up - 15 in all. I didn't think there were that many left. I was chatting to one owner, who gave me the impression that they are an expensive mistress, with what he described as the turning circle of an old London bus. They went off to do a lap of he circuit and a young chap came up to me and asked where they had gone. "Back to the Future," was my answer, which of course went totally over his head.

There's probably only one, but after leaving, they charged up the flux capacitor and came back again.

Woke early to read a WhatsApp message from a neighbour that the very well spoken, very posh, English chap, who lives in the beautiful house abutting the Anglican church, the chap who always used to indulge in gentle banter with me about yarpies and the like, when the English rugby team were playing the Springboks, has died. The sense of sadness is compounded by the news that his beautiful Swedish wife is also very ill with cancer and her prognosis is very poor indeed!

We seem to be living midst a veritable tornado of death at the moment...

Indeed. A member of my family who cares for several elderly ladies arrived at the residence of one, looking forward to her visit, to be greeted by the police, as the said lady had just been found dead. Was not well and the death not suspicious, which didn't stop the police lengthily questioning our friend who was of course in shock.

Following on from the other thread too, death comes to all in many forms but essentially only two main wars, expected and unexpected.

The truely expected with time to prepare and grieve and the other. The instant death, bus, car, train whatever must be completely numbing for the spouse and close relatives.
Perhaps worse is when you expect to take someone home to recuperate and......
