One training Capt did debrief in his hotel room with a beer and porn movies on his TV.
Of course that's the civilised way it should be done sah. One can still get topless pics of Amy Yip (o)(o) here in Honkers but I'm not allowed to hang one in the briefing room.

Here you go Capt this is a way to spice up your moonshine.

Dunno about toes but I suspect Yousef adds a scraping of his own toe jam into each bottle just to add to the unique flavour. 😋

Will have to hit the sack soon. Just waiting for Jasper to come collect my washing and dry cleaning.

Morning all.

Another Poets Day.

Usual weather restored to the Costa. Presently 19c.

Very large fire on the mountainside above el Higeiron yesterday. So close that the helicopters mit buckets were filling up from the water tower about 1km from here.

Morning folks, nice day but still a chilly 22. May go down to the port at 12.00. Our woofer needs to go and see the quack who is there today to assess the ECG he had done the other day. Nursie says that it looks OK. It seems that we may get a second doctor for the summer. This is usual to deal with the tourists with dicky stomachs, sunburn and broken limbs from motorbike crashes as they have never driven one before. We always used to advise our clients not to hire bikes. Had a senior police officer here once from the Met who was a former police motorcyclist. He hired one and said it is very tricky here and it took all his skills to stay on the thing. There you go OM15 we have a challenge for you. Don't think that you will be impressed with what they have to hire out though.

Morning all,
Same as over the bay.
Strange cloud over the mountains this morning rolling down the valleys. It's dissipating now that the air warms.

Man has just been to measure up, we are having the front terrance re-done. It is subsiding and looking really tatty.
We are replacing the balustrade with a wall to try to lower the dust levels. The balustrade needs replacing as it has all cracked with the heat.

Next is the gardener who passed initial tests.

Busy day for tradesmen

10C and still raining. Thank goodness my central heating is now fixed. Did a bit of gardening in the light rain yesterday to unblock paths and disentangle roses and wisteria. Grass is getting on for elephant's eye height.

The mud fest is still on. Friend encountered new arrivals at Derby station yesterday. Some were very inappropriately dressed: hypothermia looms.

Speaking of frozen digits, Bronco Lane's toes used to be displayed at the National Mountaineering Exhibition at the Rheged Centre, Cumbria. Youngsters were drawn to them in a mix of horror and fascination. Toes and fingers are now at the National Army Museum:

MrsP off to playgroup with granddottir as dottir#2 is poorly. I have been a good boy, cut the grass, hung a washing out and am about to transplant some echinacea purpurea which, coincidentally, is called Magnus. Leftovers for tea, so no cooking duties today. I may wander off for a small refreshment at some point.

Ex-A, your "chilly 22" in Edinbugger would see idiots sprawled out in parks and turning a delicate shade of lobster.

Actually Magnus it has now hit 28 and I have bravely taken my pully off below my 30° rule. Got it with me just in case we drop a degree though.

Pub kid is doing a lot of squawking today. Fine with nanny it is just when mother interferes.

Just had a frog couple order in English and thanked in Greek. I passed out in shock.

I used to experience the same in AMS during the Summer while window shopping along the Voor Borg waal and Dam Rak. Everyone was wandering around in shorts and t-shirts while I had a pully and heavy denims and boots.

ANC was a larf. It'd be 15C and sunny outside the Bush Company and I'd be in my winter gear while everyone would wander around in skimpy rags asking each other "how you coping with the heat?"

I guess after spending much of the year in the equivalent of a fridge freezer it would feel a tad warm.

0001L start again tonight with my 2 usual kids. I've weaned them very well off mummy's breast since early April and they're both progressing quite well indeed. They very much do qualify as pilots bootlaces at this point.

In Gander above freezing the ground crew would be in t-shirts and shorts. And, yes above 10° "how are you coping with the heat.

Well done.with the kids Capt. Hope you get them through and they don't go on to kill someone.

Just watching the Tenerife crash investigation last night. I had forgotten that it was a CRM problem with the KLM Capt. Hope that this sort of accident would not happen today. Well, I no longer fly but I am still always right.

The heatwave here came to an end, it didn't get above 32C yesterday. Enjoyed the relatively cool 30C or so. Didn't stop the dog having a swim though, she has the annoying habit of swimming, getting out of the water, running indoors and then shaking dry. A Leonberger coat can hold an amazing quantity of water. The inside of the patio window is dirtier than the outside. I've given up cleaning it because its mean time in the clean state is measured in minutes.

I can imagine the School Careers Master
"Well Ex-A, you're a right smartarse; it's flying for you!"

Unsurprisingly, that's what I was told ;)))
..although mine was more diplomatic and put something like "the requirements of the job match his talents".

Yes they were the 1st to fly the Atlantic in a Vickers Vimy, they were also the 1st to fly across the Atlantic non-stop.

Obviously involved air to air refuelling.

Done the raki pub now a quick pre-supper beer.

Managed to stay veggie today but too much olive oil. Can't avoid it.

Nice evening. Left my pully behind at places twice in two days which indicates good weather.

I do believe that the 1st users of AAR on a transatlantic flight were either the USAAF or the USAF.

But they did use one of Alan Cobham's systems.

I'll look up the details.

Yup, loads of those still around when I was down there.
SheepTAMs were a novelty. Can't fly over the sheep when they are trying to gather them in, or they scatter and it takes another week, apparently. British sheep ignore jets.

Morning to all. Looks like spring has arrived in the north of Iberia. Can't see across the Bay due to mist but it will burn off soon.
