Once upon a time, graduates of Balliol College Oxford * were almost invariably trustworthy and superbly talented individuals. Sadly, some later intakes eroded that golden standard ...

Akimbo - a stance with hands on the hips and elbows turned outwards. Strange word with an odd meaning, which has a hint of sexual naughtiness about it - or is that just me?
Re: Last two letters start the next word v2.
Botulism - a religion that worships food-contaminating bacteria.

Smash - hit or collide forcefully. The predictable result of eliminating the safe refuge of the hard shoulder on several UK motorways and allowing traffic to run on it instead, in order to get an extra lane "on the cheap". Totally inadequate little emergency refuges every mile and a half instead are a deadly substitute, and several people have died already after a breakdown. The crowning insult to the public's intelligence is that these dangerous innovations are called "Smart" motorways.

Shasistamem - an alieny exclamation made by some medium-boobed well dressed alien goddess in a Lost In Space episode I saw as a li'l kid. She yelled it out as she crossed her arms above her head, then disappeared in the usual blowuppy way that things disappeared on that show.
Never forgot that word nor the action. Thought it was a cool way for sexy goddesses to exit the scene.

Embargo - a popular official ban as a reproof, especially on trade with a particular country. Not nearly as effective as the traditional action of "Send a gunboat, Caruthers!", but our complement of gunboats is pathetic nowadays ...

Go - something I'm having with this post. I love the little two-letter interludes.

Need - something that just must be had. A deep down unconscious thing that requires satiation and leads to a frenzied drive to approach, to cuddle up, to take, to have, to enjoy, to...to...
