Alternative - available as another possibility of one or more things. Usually there's at least one of these, yet we seem to be heading for just one wildly unsuitable candidate for prime minister. We're doomed, I tell you, doomed! :-s ;)))

Toblerone - if you're going to have one, have a big one! Never mind that they trimmed the size down a tad, enorminosity still matters ... :-?

Testimonial - formal statement of a person's qualifications and good character. Apparently nowadays these are so expertly forged in 110% of cases, that if it doesn't list at least two Nobel prizes, don't bother to submit it ... 8-}

Sentimental Journey, the very smart B17G operated by the CAF. A fine example of one of Boeing's brilliant designs. I was very pleased to enter the UK's only flying one (SallyB) at a Biggin Hill airshow, and was most impressed.

Verisimilitude - the appearance of being true or real, like every politician's promises. The word's Latin etymology gives the dodgy game away.

Destabilise -to rip out a troublesome empennage component of the 737 MAX and be done with it.

This does not necessarily infer it will be airworthy but the problem will be solved.

Playground item anyone?

Serval - a kind of mini-leopard, with hardly enough side area to have much more than one spot per side. Its hunting technique is interesting, it can leap vertically up to 3 metres, and then land like a ton of bricks on top of even smaller mammals, which does their heart rate no good at all. Next event is being eaten immediately, so this little feline dines well and often. Still doesn't grow any bigger, though ... :-o

Onondagas - members of a Native American people of New York State. If only they had obtained the services of a really good lawyer, they might actually own the freehold of Manhattan now. Just as in all of those old Hollywood westerns, "White man speaks with forked tongue", and the price they accepted (a few beads and "firewater") doesn't look so good nowadays ... ;))) :D

Terribly shrewd of you to spot the dyslexic conversion of astute to statue, Slasher ^:)^ It took me a little while to cotton on! Oddly, my first London flat was part of a property built specifically by a sculptor in Chelsea, and his widow allowed me to park my car in the area where he had installed the heavy lifting gear for unloading his stone blocks from delivery trucks. And all she charged me for secure off-road parking in central London was 10/- (50 pence) a week! (Well, that was back in 1964, when things were a lot cheaper than today.)
