Math - how very singular of the USA to deliberately ignore the essential plurality of mathematics, for no apparent reason. For consistency alone, one might expect them to extend this illogical practice to the titles of all the many constituent subdivisions of maths, including Equation, Triangle, Algorithm, Statistic, Graphic, Transform, Axiom, Logarithm, etc., all of them ungrammatically abbreviated to the singular state. But they don't. Perverse, eh?

Robust characters, the Steptoe pair as portrayed on TV. In 1962 at the height of his fame, the actor Harry H.
