Some weeks ago I ordered a replacement Yagi antenna for my 4G booster - coming from China of course! The original crashed to the ground when the aluminium bracket attachment finally gave up being flexed to and fro by the wind. Having chased the suppliers they now promise delivery next week 'as a priority'. The email confirming this was signed by Ethan Hunt. I really do hope this is not Mission Impossible!

Well after week and a half with no local postal deliveries at all we, i.e. my better half and I, cracked and we went to the depot, where we met out own local postman, a really nice chap, who has been seconded to sorting out a 6 week backlog in the mail as the company hemorrhages staff, at all levels, is wracked by strikes and fails to employ and train new staff. We eventually managed to find all our missing mail, some of it over 2 months old.
Turning and turning in the widening gyre
The falcon cannot hear the falconer;
Things fall apart; the centre cannot hold;
Mere anarchy is loosed upon the world,
The blood-dimmed tide is loosed, and everywhere
The ceremony of innocence is drowned;
The best lack all conviction, while the worst
Are full of passionate intensity.
My necessaries are embark'd: farewell. Adieu! I have too grieved a heart to take a tedious leave.

What is this strange combination of the words "post" and "delivery" of which you speak? Does the first word, in some strange parallel universe, imply the second?

Having psyched myself up for throwing myself at the mercy of me GP's Nursie, went for me annual diabetic foot-check, blood-letting, BP, wee sampling, memory tests, etc. Expecting to be in for about half an hour only to be told that they had cocked-up me appointment and had only time to draw blood and I would need to re-book for the rest of the tests. So whilst the NHS complains about the no-shows wasting time that other patients could use, they think nothing of wasting patients' time themselves. ....and breathe.
It's always my fault - SWMBO

Ordered some furniture. Told the ONLY delivery date was 8 Dec. That was fine. 8 Dec and no delivery confirmation. Rang then up. "" You are number 28 in the queue". I am not making that up.

Eventually got through to someone who sounded Swedish. Having given the usual information, inside leg measurement etc, she said no delivery note as not yet despatched.

Asked for new date. Didn't know. A few days before they could left me know. Mrs PN said CANCEL, No problem so I was passed on to another department. Another 30 minutes on phone, an hour in all, and I hung up.

An hour later, phone call, 10 minutes out, OK?

Will I get the refund as well?

Sounds like that on-line shambles that is IKEA. We will NEVER buy from IKEA again. Have a look at IKEA on Trustpilot.UK. Disgraceful.

Had to give up on IKEA 18 months ago.
They have utterly, and I do mean that, screwed up handling of the pandemic.
I will be building my new kitchen from scratch.
What's particularly sad for them is that I will be using their designs, their specs, and their jointing components sourced from elsewhere.
It's not the product idea that's the problem.
I would buy stuff from them tomorrow if they had it in stock and could get it here. TOTAL failure on both counts.

Ref my TV table from The Range. It is exactly what we need and looks good.
However at 2227 last night I received an email with the despatch note and delivery details. I also received a text 'Good news, your order has been despatched'.

I can't wait.

It's in the Telegraph, it must be true :

The predator, whose diet consists of anything from crabs to sea turtles, can weigh up to 1,700lbs (almost eight tons) and can grow to be 15ft long, making it the fourth-largest shark on Earth.

Not having much luck with delivery drivers. Fedex, having wimped out yesterday, today ignored my large "phone me, the driveway is sheet ice" note - he agreed he'd seen it - and drove up to near the house, delivered the parcel, reversed all the way back and got away with it by the skin of his teeth. ASDA turned up on time, no problems, all loaded into my car. The DHL driver had 111 parcels to deliver before he got to us and when he got to number 104 all the tracking information disappeared and the parcel never arrived. Scheduling 111+ parcels in one shift is a bit daft considering the weather and rural road conditions.

I tried to try a pair abs and could not undo the waist band button. I tried several different pairs and could not indo any.

I looked at several other makes and they all used buttons and not those metal clips.

Gave up.

Murphy at his best ! 2 days to Christmas and one if our (fortunately) 2 toilets has broken. The other one broke about 3 months ago, both being about 14 yrs. old in the house that we have recently moved to, to be nearer to "town". They are some sort of "Imperial" model, which the plumber described as being "A Mongrel". Not a simple handle and rod to lift the valve, but a complicated plastic arrangement of various levers and connections, almost a LEGO nightmare. The same piece of thin plastic rivetting has broken. Last time the plumber replaced the whole system with a more robust one, and will have to do the same again, maybe late January or February, he has suggested ! NZ closes down for a month at the start of the year, to enjoy Summer. Grrrr !! Merry Christmas.

I had one of those break a couple of years ago. Took out the mechanism but left the valve. Connected it with a piece of waxed twine to a simple chrome lift lever sticking out of the top.

Our ensuite shower room is shortly to be gutted and refitted. Mrs C16 chose a toilet where you just wave your hand over a certain spot and it flushes. What could possibly go wrong!
