Android has a built-in auto back-up to Google and Google Drive. Can't even remember what period I set. WhatsApp also backsup to Google Drive at a set interval. The Clone app (50,000,000 downloads) is what Huawei recommended to take a mirror image of phone 2 and put it in the new one, phone 3. It's on Play Store. All seems unimportant until phone breaks/stolen/lost, when you can buy a new one and have a replica up and running in 30 minutes. IF you set the backup to run.

We are at the end of a 1 km track down to the lagoon. Downhill obviously. Why do arseholes think that they can drive down deep slippery sand in unsuitable vehicles or with boats on trailers and get back up again. Got four of the wankers stuck outside at the moment. I am drinking cold beer by the pool no intention of helping. They are white S.A.. Well perhaps they will not try again. Goodness knows who gave them directions to our place. We are in the middle of nowhere.

Rescued a few tourists who ignored instructions NOT to drive up Mauna Kea in the rental car. Some burned out the brakes on descent, others tore out various bits on the rocks in the graded road. Feckwits.

Bastard, bet I can work out his shift pattern, some Tw@t on AGP approach, every time he is on I get them straight overhead. 10,000' and as they slow to 250kt I get the Airbus howl.
Window closed tonight. SAS6353 just howled over.
Does look like that's it forza night though.

Woken oh dark early by an annoying unwanted popup that appears bottom right-hand corner with a 'chime' presenting useless information - the last one was a offer of an update to chrome - wish I could locate it and delete it!

We were aware that we weren't allowed to drive over the Saddle Road, but there was never an explanation as to why. We went up on an organised tour from Kona, so didn't need to try it in the rental car. I did miss the bit that said we weren't supposed to drive it to South Point until after we'd done it but nothing bad happened.

This is the main reason people break rules these days. Given the plethora of stupid laws and restrictions, average Joe is going to assume there isn't a good reason, unless one is given.but there was never an explanation as to why.

Ilondel, the saddle road used to be about as smooth as a goat track, and there was also the potential for tourists to head up to MK when the road was still unsurfaced. From just above Hale Pohaku (around 9000 feet), the road has been substantially surfaced, and is safer (although think of hard frost and ice in winter). The saddle road is much better these days, so the prohibition may have been waived. There was also a hire car prohibition on the road from route 240 down to Waipi`o valley.

Won't be heading to the Land of the Gaul until Thursday but after a strikeless few months the expletive-deleted French railways are starting strikes again. First one today. Batards !

Ongoing saga with the broken laptop. The department of consumer affairs here in Maun have maxed out it was referred to their Director in Gaborone. No action. They come under the Ministry of Trade. Yesterday I e-mailed 'Get me contact details for the Minister'. They did actually. The director has just phoned me. The consumer act states if after a hearing they feel that an item should be replaced and the company refuses the department take them to court. She said that they do not have the resources but will give me a letter to take them to court. They are in the process of putting an act through parliament to change the law. I said but as the law stands at the moment you are to take them to court. You are not abiding by the law. She is going to get back to me.

Sitting in the aisle seat on a Eurostar. Why is it that the loathsome ugly fat women all thrust their evil-smelling private parts in my face as the squeeze past, whereas the fragrant skinny blondes with minimal underwear beneath their filmy dresses all pass 6" away from my erotically overcharged shoulder....?

Its only because they fancy you, OFSO..........
Re: Rant of the Day v2.
It's because life isn't fair OFSO. I used to work my arse off doing **** night Venuses or lousy local flights and received the same monthly nett pay as a 777 jock who does only 4 trips a month to far better places than frigging Cairo.
It's just the way things work out. Sometimes repeatedly.

It's a simple question of size and space - a slender person doesn't need as much space as the larger ones.OFSO wrote: ↑Fri Oct 12, 2018 6:10 pmWhy is it that the loathsome ugly fat women all thrust their evil-smelling private parts in my face as the squeeze past, whereas the fragrant skinny blondes with minimal underwear beneath their filmy dresses all pass 6" away from my erotically overcharged shoulder....?

Re: Rant of the Day v2.
Aisle seats. 'Plane, train, bus. Imagine you board from the front. In a completely unrepresentative survey with little or no statistical significance, I've noticed that men tend to turn directly into the row, turn to face forward, then sit down. However, women are more likely to take one step further then reverse into the row to sit. I'd like to think it's because the latter want to display to me their derriere (pert or otherwise), but I sadly suspect that's not the case. Speculation and discussion are invited.
