Couldn't format it as couldn't access it. As far as the laptop was concerned it was there but 0 capacity.

Re: Rant of the Day v2.
I have a marvellous new keyboard.
The instructions are badly translated from the Chinese, and totally inadequate.
There are several video reviews on Youtube. The one who sounded experienced had a video over an hour and a half long!
There are at least 11 thousand ways to configure the pretty lights.
Fortunately, I only had to watch 10 minutes of him pressing all the buttons to be able to replicate the basic mode I wanted.

Re: Rant of the Day v2.
It is a Royal Kludge S108 mechanical, with brown switches (quietly clicky).
Been using it for an hour now, and finding it very comfortable. It's my first mechanical keyboard.
It has a built-in wrist rest.
Some say the keys are too close, but I have tiny hands so, as expected, I am finding this a good thing.
I have found it needs a USB 3 port to provide sufficient power to avoid occasional connection dropouts, but my PC has lots of those.
Needless to say, nobody tells you that - the manual certainly doesn't, nor does their website.
Picked it up for C$80, taxes in.
When I eventually get my study done out in Art Deco style, it will fit in very well. Round keys and chrome-like trim, as per 1930's typewriters.

Re: Rant of the Day v2.
Just ftr, I cannot stand hearing women talk about their husbands as if they're six years old:
"he makes his own lunch when I'm out" - overheard in a shop. There was more in the same vein.
So disrespectful.

Re: Rant of the Day v2.
Are you speaking from a "wife" point of view or a "husband POV". I get the general impression that most wives talk about their husbands like that?

Re: Rant of the Day v2.
I did that in my 20s as well as now.
I have adopted a set order for doing it.
Haven't mucked up since, except when very tired.
When my kitchen is finished, I will have tap, beans, grinder, filters, and coffee maker all adjacent, in that order.
I think we can forget that we used to screw up on things when we were younger too.
My problem now is dumping a teabag in a cuppa, then going to do something else and eventually coming back to find cool, stewed tea.
I reckon this is because I never used to leave the cup when I lived in England.
It's because I now mostly drink coffee, which I can leave to brew as I have a thermos carafe.

Sad if so. Glad I'm not part of conversations like that. (Me = female)
Once observed two ladies meet on the street: air-kisses and "Dahling! Haven't seen you for yonks! This is my Man" and the poor fellow is standing there nameless.
So disrespectful.
Not Done.

Oh gosh. As a Mom of young children, going to place half a cup of tea in the microwave to re-heat, only to find an earlier half-cup already in there gone cold again.Fox3WheresMyBanana wrote: ↑Fri Jun 09, 2023 5:51 pm... Re: Rant of the Day v2.
Tea at 5pm, by 6:30pm I was feeling sleepy, so I succumbed and started a nap at 7:30 (so my computer history records).
By 8:30 I was enjoying a pleasant and satisfying dream.
Woke up and cannot remember what I was dreaming about or how to regain it . . .

Re: Rant of the Day v2.
I find that unless I'm physically tired I often have trouble getting to sleep at night, so yesterday I took advantage of the beautiful weather to go for a bushwalk. Result - nodded off for a longish nap immediately after lunch. Then did a few hours in the workshop in the hope that might tire me again. Result - another nap before dinner. Nonetheless, I did sleep well last night.

Nothing to do with me Guv, I’m still recovering from last nights soirée to Windsor racecourse, got home about midnight, which considering the last race was about 21.00 and I only live about a mile from the course was quite impressive
When all else fails, read the instructions.

Re: Rant of the Day v2.
I have been assiduously scanning the yellow press to find evidence of some scandal or unseemly drunken fracas at your BA do Woody, but have been frustrated to find nary a word of scandal anywhere. So no bosses' wives goosed, no incontinent ribald singing, not even a random moony!
Bah there's my rant for the day done!
A plague of Constellations...

Surely the BA problem is evident? Woody is not at his post.

Re: Rant of the Day v2.
My first Long Haul Flight was on a Constellation, September 1957, Air Ceylon, LHR to BAH via Zurich,Rome and Cairo. After Bahrein I believe it went to Karachi,Bombay and then Colombo.
Dinner at Zurich and breakfast at Cairo. The runways at Cairo and Bahrein were sand we arrived at Cairo at dawn and the runway lights were lit kerosine tins.A great adventure. The aircraft was manned by KLM. If I recall we left Heathrow just before 1700 and arrived at Bahrein about 1430 local.Good visibility all the way and the views over the desert were terrific not sure how high a Constellation flies but we didn't seem to be very high.It was noisy and the engine exhausts glowed red in the dark. I had my first pink gin in Zurich!
