I've just completed the SpTH digital pass for entering Spain via an airport for Madame returning this week. Combines all info for one one-time arrival in one QR Code. I wonder why we British couldn't do this? Rhetorical question.

Adding to the above: it's necessary to upload the SpTh digital pass into BA's system to be allowed onto the big silver bird flying to Spain. Well, actually a new and interesting meaning of "necessary" as it's actually not necessary but if you don't do it you can't board.

Dropped Son in Law, off at LHR Terminal 3 this morning for his flight to San Francisco. First time I've been for a while. They are charging £5.00 for dropping off now. I was stationary for 2 mins max. Absolute rip off!!

Even Bristol Airport charges £5 for 10 minutes to drop off or pick up.

All the ATM’s inside the Terminals, which used to be free, now charge £2.50 per transaction, got caught out last week, when I had to get some cash out for my taxi X(
When all else fails, read the instructions.

Charging for drop-off seems universal nowadays, enforced by parking fines for 'lurking' at any possible location - enforced by cameras.
Luton, Newcastle . . .

Yes indeed, I used to pick up Mrs M and her mother at Bham airport after their visits to Tenerife. There were many places and laybys around the NEC one could "lurk" waiting for the call to come to pick them up. They are now double red lined, cameras and frequent patrols.

Paying to park is one of my pet peeves. ~X(
On-street parking near the downtown baseball stadium is time limited so you can't park for a game without the meter timing out and risk a parking ticket.
Having to pay just to drop off or pick up someone would send me over the edge! X( :((

Discussing the ludicrous price of Easter Eggs with my cleaner, the lovely and frugal Rachael: "I just chuck the kids a bar of Cadbury's at Easter. Same amount of chocolate at half the price."
At some point as a child I realised that the correct way to suggest this to adults was to point out that if they're spending that much money, I could have twice as much chocolate if it was in bars rather than egg-shaped.

Surprisingly, this hasn't gained popularity in the US, known for charging for baggage trolleys. We even have cellphone lots where people are encouraged to wait, so that someone arriving can message their driver who can then come to arrivals for pick-up.

Cellphone lots are great. :-bd
The reduction in traffic endless looping around terminals is significant, as is cars parked forever in front of terminals..
Of course, before cellphones, that was the norm.

Mrs OFSO on way back, BA flight substantially delayed, will probably miss train. Huge road traffic queues into BCN as idiots locals return from Easter break in pouring rain, so I'm not driving down.

Superb taxi driver got her to the AVE platform as the train pulled in.

Drove home in the heaviest rain I've ever seen. "Slow to 5kph" rain. Could not see the sides of the road even with the fog lamps on. Come to that, couldn't see the road surface. Flashes of lightning.

My current surfing of Youtube is plagued by adverts.
Whilst there is usually an easy 'exit', it is, nevertheless irritating.
This is fairly recent - I never used to experience this.
What has changed?

More Niagara Falls today, after we went shopping, having left the washing on the line. When we returned, it had to go back to be spun. Now blue sky menaced by giant storms to the south and west.

When bored I occasionally pass the time by looking at railway webcams. About three weeks ago on a Sunday at 5am local, I watched two people stealing a Honda two stroke pump left running by the creek at Revelstoke BC. Today I just watched two youths smashing the large mirror on the platform at Fornells de la Selva, Girona, by throwing ballast at it. Profoundly depressing.

At our village fete our Rotary Club had a smashing stand.

We collected old and odd crockery and charged a pound for 4 tennis balls to smash everything. If someone spotted a cup they needed to make up a set we might sell it before it was smashed.

How about organising some hooligan events?

How about organising some grafitti ones too?

Get a couple of old containers. Sell spray paint. Sell a time slot. Job done.

T-Mobile and Verizon advertising 5G home internet for a reasonable price.
Only problem, not available in my area (major metropolitan area) and no idea when it will be available. ~X(
Worthless if you can't get it. [-X
Why advertise it? #-o

Same up here for BT broadband which sent out flyers advertising high speed broadband. Alas, max broadband via landline on our island is 7 Mbs. Mobile phone coverage is patchy - I have to stand at the bottom of the garden or across the road to get a useable signal.
